Excellent service, starting with an airport transfer and super fast check in. Large, comfortable room overlooking the city and views of volcanos. Recommend requesting the breakfast delivery. Well priced and convenient. Would stay again. Old school service in the best possible way.

This is a really nice hotel. The room i was in was very big, coffee maker, coffee, water, mini bar items. There are 4 restaurants i think and the buffet covers all meals. I did not have a chance to try the breakfast but evening buffet was very good, and the automatic coffee/cappuccino machine worked really well.. if i stay again i will want to get breakfast buffet.
A really nice feature was an early breakfast menu you can fill out at night, hang on your door, choose a delivery time and for room service i thought the prices were reasonable mostly 12.00 or less. If i have another early morning departure i would definitely do this.
After 2 weeks of travel with uncertain water temperatures, the shower was really great. It had all amenities including conditioner which i never usually see. And little extras like sewing kitwhich i needed.

We stay at the Barcelo for a city break as we live in rural Guatemala.
The staff is lovely and we love the pool.
While not normal, there was a cleanliness issue with our carpet which I have addressed with the hotel directly. Thats why I gave the 4 stars.

This hotel was very clean and the staff is wonderful. Everyone was friendly and I felt very safe on the property. There was a sufficient amount of security. I booked the Suite Duplex Premium Level, which gave you access to their VIP lounge. It offered Breakfast and snacks throughout the day. Breakfast at their main restaurant starts at 5 AM, which is very convenient if you have an early excursion planned. The selection was good, and the food was delicious. I also booked a deep tissue massage, which was amazing. I felt very relaxed afterwards, and the masseuse was nice. They only have one masseuse on the premises, so keep that in mind if you’re booking for more than one person. There’s a lot of restaurants in the area if you don’t want to dine at the hotel. A lot of American fast food chains as well. I highly recommend this hotel. I would absolutely come back to Barcelo.

This is a great hotel to stay at. Quality, comfort and 5-star service. They are very helpful and there are a few people on the staff that are especially great. Add the breakfast buffet on and you will not be disappointed. Its an amazing spread for the price as long as you add it in advance.
