room had musky smell otherwise was ok bedding very comfortable

Staff were lovely. First room, bare & not cosy, wooden floor very marked, needed a least a rug runner!! Second room, more cosy, still needed a rug runner for bare wood floors, floors very blackened with scuffs from furniture. Bathroom big but apart from nice sink vanity unit, everything else very tired and grubby, including marks in bottom of bath etc etc. Windows need deep clean in bathroom and bedroom too, thick black mould buildup etc. Bed clean and comfortable. Breakfast Sun was very chaotic, nothing came together either, and had to ask for things that were forgotten. Croissant freshly baked but half cooked! Toast delicious. Reception staff very friendly as was housekeeping when asked for milk. Bedroom was not 4star standard overall!

We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and have always found the staff friendly and courteous. Room was clean and tidy. Great location

The room was good. It would be good to clean the mould off the top of the glass surround in the bathroom as it is substantial and very black. The staff are quite neutral. We generally speak first and they respond. We stay there for convenience only.

Lovely hotel clean rooms comfy beds, only thing is that breakfast was said was included but only Continental was included and was not explained but other than that lovely stay

Lovely hotel in the centre of Canterbury “city” convenient for the Marlow Theatre, Beanie Museum and the Cathedral. Very comfortable room, good food, very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

Fine, 3rd time staying here

Room was nice but quite tired, lovely bed and sofa, but floors were old, bathroom quite shabby witb lots of broken tiles and dated design. The shower gel and conditioner dispensers didnt work/ were empty but the shampoo worked. 2 light switches didnt work. The £2.50 water cartons were a con and with such a small sign it was easy to miss. The breakfast system is strange why not just do a continental buffet with hot food? Even if its hot to order it was nothing special so why pretend to be.

I had my dog. The hotel provided a comfy doggie mattress and 2 bowls. Staff polite and friendly.

Courteous staff

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient and the location of the hotel was excellent for walking around Canterbury. However, our room (215) looked out onto what looked like a junkyard next to a pub and we could hear a lot of noise from people standing outside the pub until very late at night.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was lovely. Room was clean and comfortable although bed was too soft.

Everything was excellent except for the temperature in our room was very cold at first. Luckily the thermostat enabled us to get it warmer within a couple of hours
