Surprised to see so many security people around. Previously never noticed...makes one wonder about what problems exist.

Excellent place to stay. Highly recommend.

Clean rooms, the salt water pool and hot tub was fantastic. The look of the hotel with all the stone and wood was stunning. Great location as well, 10 minute walk one way to the top of Clifton Hill and 10 minute walk the other way is the top of the niagara rail to Table Rock. Only thing we wish was that the steak house resturant would have been open when we were there as it is closed so the eating area they do have open is really tiny and a fraction of the menu available.

Booked through Expedia. Was contacted 48 hours prior to leaving for my trip that hotel was overbooked and I was being out at another hotel. Was not given a confirmation for the new hotel and just expected to deal with the change. Was told rates and parking would be the same, yet new hotel was charging me more and I spent hours on the phone trying to fix the problem. One big headache that I wish I had been made aware of way earlier to make my own decision on where to stay.

Great pool area along with the outdoor patio to catch some rays. Spacious and clean hotel room. Staff were very friendly and polite. Will definitely return.

We’ve stayed at this property before and loved it. This last trip there was a private event the whole time and part of the restaurant was closed for the event. It would’ve been nice to know this beforehand so we could plan other options. We kind of had to venture out and find different food. We were disappointed because we like the restaurant in the hotel.

I was moved to another hotel a few blocks away and notified a couple of days before my stay. After they moved me, I checked and realized it was a smaller room and a more expensive parking. So I paid much more than expected for a smaller room without any apology or refund. After ten calls, I still haven't received a refund, and was told they will get back to me tomorrow. Let's see. Don't trust DoubleTree to honour your reservation or their managers to get back to you on your concerns

They moved all Expedia booking customer to different hotel, due to some unclear reason

Let's start with the good. The staff at the front desk were unfailingly polite and professional, and greeted us with cookies on arrival. The room was spacious and clean, and had a great view of the Niagara skyline and nightly fireworks, and everything was within walking distance. Now the not so good. We had to pay $35 CAD to park, nightly, go ahead and add that to the room fee. The inhouse restaurant , Buchanan's, was never open the whole three nights we were there, apparently "closed for a private event". To even enter the hotel, we routinely had to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke from staff taking breaks leaning against the building. There was a slightly alarming level of security all around the the inside of the hotel, which didn't stop us from being shoved out of an elevator by two very drunk women having a very public fight, which ended with them running screaming into the parking lot barefoot. The area around the hotel itself was a little sketchy, with empty parking lots and jersey barricades. To sum up, room, view, and staff were good, location and ambiance could have been better.

The hotel is in a great location and there is a large car park (for a fee) which is convenient. However, it would have been nice to have been told in advance about the large ‘function’ being held during our stay which meant there was security everywhere and the restaurant was closed. The on site Starbucks also served me a dairy flat white, despite asking for oat milk three times and checking with them. There was only one working elevator out of three, and being on the 14th floor, stairs weren’t really an option. We once waited 20 minutes for an elevator which is not acceptable. The room was big and had good views, especially of the fireworks.

Two days before day, they canceled my reservation!!

The hotel gave us complimentary upgrade (all 5 rooms) . The seniors in our group really appreciate the view from their rooms.

Arrived before checkin time, staff was happy to accommodate our parked vehicle while we took in a boat tour of the falls. And when we requested an upper room to view the falls and fireworks even better, we were placed on the top floor! All rooms have a view of the fireworks, but we appreciated being on the 17th floor! Very Nice facilities, only comment would be the short time elevator doors stay open, when trying to navigate a luggage cart in.
