It is convenient to park your car at this inn. Highland Gate is not the inn but the the restaurant. The Highland Gate restaurant and Marton's Inn are in two separate buildings. The inn's outside apearance and inside conditions are quite mediocre: carpet in the hallway looks dirty at every entrance to the room; there is no rack or shelve for suitcases though the room size is decent; the bathroom has a peculiar smell (not stinky but unpleasant to me), and the double bed (made of two single beds) sinks in so it is not comfortable.
The breakfast is served in the restaurant. The quantity and quality are fine.
We traveled in Scotland for 12 days by this date and had stayed in six different hotels and lodges before Highland Gate by Marton's Inn. We would rate the Marton's Inn at Highland Gate below average. Our first suggestion is to deep clean the carpets in the inn and the restaurant.
