excellent location and clean facilities! walking distance from crystal caves, bailey's ice cream and swizzle inn. in addition, you can walk to jamaican grill at bailey's bay next to the cricket ground, a 15 min walk. bus stops are right outside the hotel that can take you to hamilton and st. george's.

No complaints! Beach and pool were wonderful. Loved being able to walk right down to beach. Being able to catch the bus right from the rnd of the property was so convenient. Would absolutely stay again!😊

This is our new favorite place to visit! Not only is it close to Boston, you feel like you are worlds away. . Everyone that we encountered was nothing but helpful and extremely kind. We will be back yearly!

Overall we enjoyed our stay - the room (although ground floor) had a view (we paid extra for the ocean front), the beach was good, we always found chairs and towels (free), and the room was comfortable with plenty of hot water and clean towels daily. The housekeeping staff was excellent! The one lunch we had at the resort was great, but the seafood BBQ was overpriced and the meats and lobster were overcooked and dry. Everything else at the BBQ was very good though. Be prepared that if you do not have the all inclusive, everything is every expensive. Small coffee in the AM $4, a muffin $6 (those were the least expensive options)...drinks expensive too. The all inclusive might be the best route - $139 per person, but includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee at the bar and most drinks, plus water sports stuff and I also think the bus passes and tipping are included. If you do not book directly with the hotel, the staff will remind you frequently and not be as helpful as they should.

Beautiful grounds on a hill overlooking the bay. Close to the airport and close to scooter rental - which we used to explore the entire island. Staff was phenomenal, extremely friendly. Good food - we did breakfast and dinner plan - and good entertainment after dinner. We took advantage of a couples spa in the underground caves on the property, it was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

The Grotto Bay Resort was fine. I was expecting more for the price. We had an ocean front room. The view was great, the room was average. Had issues with both the in-room coffee service and the coffee available at the continental breakfast. The spa (in a cave!) was excellent. There is also a cave to swim in. If you didn’t want to spend big bucks for breakfast in the restaurant, the offerings at the continental breakfast were meager. All in all, I would rate the property as okay, not great.

There were pro’s and cons to this resort. We were very early but were accommodated with an early check-in to a room at the level we had booked, which was great. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable although the view was mainly of shrubs rather than the ‘sea view’ we had expected and the patio doors weren’t very clean. I booked a table for Sunday brunch and when we arrived at the restaurant it was heaving - a good sign! - but the guy on the desk was brusque and wasn’t really interested in finding our booking when we said we were residents. He asked if we were ‘all inclusive’ and I said no, we weren’t, but he said we couldn’t have the Sunday Brunch, as residents ate at the pool restaurant. We had no choice but to go there and, to say the least, the food was not what we wanted. I did question this at Reception the following day and was told that, as we weren’t ‘all-inclusive’, we should have been able to dine in the restaurant and eat the Sunday brunch. Not impressed. Added to that, there was a rooster which paraded outside the room and crowed at around 6.00 a.m. every morning; he even paid us a visit, so I think people must have been feeding him. Again, not impressed. There was a huge storm while we were there and that sent detritus everywhere. A staff member used a leaf blower to clear it but left what looked like toilet paper draped on one of the bushes. There were also small slugs all over the little terrace afterwards. For the price, I really wouldn’t recommend.

Staff were outstanding, food was great. I do think they need more beach chairs/umbrella's and a bigger pool/hot tub for how many rooms they have.

Grotto Bay is a very nice hotel and it is close to the airport. The food was really good. The staff were all very nice. It has a nice area on the side for snorkeling with loads of small fish. The hotel could use a little updating, the bathrooms are small, the floor in the room is kind of dirty, but it’s a beach hotel, so it’s not that bad. They could use some variation of the menu at the outside bar. It’s the only option you have for lunch there, so so e specials of the day would be nice. The Swizzle Inn is a 3 minute walk, so that’s convenient. We have stayed there a few times about 10 years ago, and it is exactly the same as it was then. I would stay there again, but it’s not a luxury hotel. Very nice, but just being honest.

Room that I was shown vs I was given were not the same at all. When mentioned, I was sent to another room that did not have king bed but good view, then sent to a 3rd room with an eve worse (no view) view and king bed. After 30 minutes of walking around the resort I was given a room that had a decent (as shown) view and king bed and was told I will be charged extra (thankfully I was not) I had mentioned it was my anniversary and there was nothing the resort did for that. I had booked a spa with add on and they did not take extra time for the 15 minute add on and finished it in the same time. Great resort, great location but spoils the experience.

The food choices at dinner were very disappointing. Minimum things I would eat and the menu didn’t change much at all. Breakfast was fine. Typical resort breakfast. Lunch was best eaten off the resort. There are soooo many stairs! The Spa is incredible! I also wish we were told more info about checking out. We had to drag our bags up all those stairs at 5:30 am to be on time for our airport transfer at 5:45 because the bellhop wasn’t available. Do not take the first flight home. TSA and Customs only open from 7am-4pm.

Main building was landscaped beautifully however ever our building was not weeds over grown bushes very unkempt. Friend had a bad knee No handicap access to get to the beach and pool only way to get there is multiple steep stairs….were told you could call to get a ride down via golf cart when we did ask multiple times they were not available but could wait until one came back shouldn’t be to long needless to say ended up walking down. Most staff were amazing and most helpful and hate to say anything negative but checking out the guy behind the desk has no business being in the hospitality business was annoyed that we asked for a print out and bottled water…never spoke just rolled his eyes and mumbled. Will definitely be back to the area but will not book at this hotel again.
