Yesterday I arrived at the Quito airport midmorning, after an international flight. I was exhausted. Within 30 minutes after collecting my baggage in luggage claim, I was enjoying a gourmet lunch in the Eb Hotel restaurant paired with fine wine from the hotel bar. I was met at the airport by Angel, a hotel transport chauffeur, holding a branded name sign. Reception staff greeted me as I entered the hotel lobby and produced the necessary documents for my signature before escorting me to a lovely room with a mountain view. All this was made possible through the Expedia app, including both booking request and also transport request. After lunch, I slept 15 hours [without sleep aids] and woke without an alarm at 6:15 am, just in time for an extraordinary buffet breakfast. I continued my seafood theme with shrimp ceviche. And I also enjoyed fresh tropical fruit and juices, as well as Ecuadorian specialities. As they say in Latin America: 'todo bien' [it's all good].
