I had the worst check in ever. Between the hotel and expedia they had not communicated and therefore couldn't check me in. Even though I had a confirmation email and had paid for the hotel.
I spent over an hour trying to check in and was told I had to phone expedia myself to sort it out. They were constantly unhelpful moving me from person to person and then saying they would phone the hotel to discuss of which they then didn't.
In the end, after an hour and 15 minutes, I had to pay for the hotel room again, even though I had paid and expedia had taken my money.
Once in my room, I then spent another hour and half on the phone to expedia and talking to the hotel to sort it out which resulted in us missing out on a swimming session (the reason we booked this hotel) and our dinner reservation.
Due to this delay, my son has missed dinner ( at a nearby restuarant and I called and they couldn't fit us in) Still with the check in not sorted, I was told by the hotel staff to use uber eats as it would take over an hour and half to cook one pizza (off their menu) for my son, it was now nearly 9pm.
Eventually, the hotel staff saw my distress and said that they would call expedia in the morning and sort the situation out for me. The lack of communication between the two companies, the expectation for me to pay again and to phone and sort this out myself even though I had emails and bank statements to confirm my booking, completely ruined our weekend away and time at this hotel.
