Eiffel Rive Gauche

We stayed at three properties while in Paris all booked through Expedia all in the same price range and this was the worst. The person at the front desk was scary. Our entire family felt uncomfortable with him. When I asked him if both our keys should work for the main door of our room (we had two separate rooms with a separate single entry door) without responding to me he aggressively took my key, ran up the stairs and tried the key only to tell me only one of the room door key will work for the front door. Also, prior to arrival I messaged the hotel a few days ahead to ask if I could drop the luggage a day early and have it stored. No one ever responded to my email.

Shower

Le personnel est très sympathique et il y a une jolie vue sur la Tour Eiffel. Voilà pour le positif. Sinon les chambres sont extrêmement mal insonorisées, les pièces (chambre et salle de bain) sont très petites - il est difficile de circuler. Il n’y a pas de miroir dans la salle de bain, les toilettes font du bruit et il y avait des traces sur les murs et draps.

Great location. Location gelt safe walking early morning to late in evening. Small room and shower but clean and functional. Would stay there again.

The property was very clean very quiet small but you’re not in the room you’re out seeing Paris. The only problem I had was that the room key never worked.

Extra small room

The rooms were terribly small. You could barely breathe and walk around the bed. There were loose outlets chained from the wall. Most of them didn’t work and in very poor shape. They had coffee, mugs and hot pots in the room, but they didn’t have any coffee in the room to make. But they didn’t restock them. Breakfast was very minimal and expensive. Limited supplies available like an iron and such that they advertise on their website. The elevator literally fits one person at a time with luggage. It’s a very tight squeeze. The stairs are very narrow and steep. Staff was friendly and nice. I like the location but the advertisement is that there’s a few of the Eiffel Tower and unless you’re very high up and on the other side of the building, you cannot see the Eiffel Tower. It’s about a 10 minute walk to be able to see it.

I loved the proximity to the Eiffel tower. Location is ideal.

I had a 3 day stay at this hotel with my daughter. The location is excellent, with the Eiffel Tower and Champs du Mars on the doorstep. For eating out, with Rue Cler a few minutes walk away for some nice cafes. There are several supermarkets within walking distance and a metro (although the route 8 is partially closed for the summer so need to be aware of this if coming from fare du nord). The twin room was tiny and the beds pushed together - which was not great for my teenage daughter. The shower cubicle is also small, so definitely not a room for people who are on the larger side for a comfortable stay. In terms of ratings, I’ve gone mid way as there were no remotes for the tv or the air con. The tea/coffee facilities were there, but very basic. The layout of the hotel with lots of wonky steps isn’t brilliant if you are travelling with luggage. In terms of updating the provision. The air con unit was very noisy and the bathroom quite musty, not noticeable on the first day but on day 2/3 could smell it quite strongly. The hotel had an invoice through from hotel.com for double the tourist tax (under 18s are exempt) on our departure and I had to spend a long time to get the correct amount charged, but this was resolved eventually. Overall, due to location, I would still go back for a 1/2 night stay but note that expectations need to be in line with the facilities.

I liked where it was located near the Eiffel Tower and good restaurants. I didn’t like the place it was extremely small and uncomfortable with the way the stairs are. You can hear everything from the rooms near yours and on top. I was awake by the noises inside the building
