Best hotel ever.

This is a magnificent older hotel property. The best parts are those that have been left in their original condition. The remodeled lobby, etc are nice but nowhere near as elegant as the original. By modern standards the room was small, and the bathroom just adequate. But that’s what all hotels used to be like. The Q restaurant was splendid and the food was excellent. The menu could have been more extensive. The Gold option amenities were well worth the price and very nice.

The Fairmont Empress is a five star hotel. The staff are amazing, the area is amazing, the hotel itself is impressive. Do yourself a favour and spend a couple nights. Be sure to attend High Tea.

one of the nicest properties in all of Victoria, even if you don’t stay here come and see the property and gardens, they are spectacular!

Beautiful property, great location and service impeccable

One of the grandest hotels you’ll stay in with manicured landscaping and flower beds. Impeccably service. Spectacular wood trimmed lounge.

Everything was amazing!! Staff was exceptional!

We stayed in 4 other hotels during our adventures on Vancouver Island and the Fairmont was the best for Cleanliness, helpful staff, bed comfort and amenities. It costs equivalent to a neighbouring property that we found disappointing. Walk to pretty much everything you want from here and the grounds are pretty.

Very disappointed! I paid $700 per night and toiletries are empty!!!! I wait over 10 min for room service to bring it to me!!! Totally unacceptable, I expect appology.

Classic older hotel. In great condition, but small bathrooms. Amenities and location are great. Bikes for loan were great. Excellent proximity to lots of activities, sights and dining.

Location is perfect…in the heart of the city center. The hotel is iconic!

It was a good visit

We had such a great time staying here. The hotel’s exterior is obviously breathtaking and they spare no expense for the flowers and beauty as you walk up. The lobby is equally breathtaking. We stayed in 2 different rooms by choice in different sections. The history of this hotel is described on the walls from the parking garage, but it is clear as you walk through the halls. Despite its age, the hotel is beautifully done with soft, clean beds, and superior service. The pool was one of our favorite parts as well which was exceptionally clean. Definitely staying here again! Only complaint, which can’t be changed given the age of the hotel, is outside noise. Above the 4th floor and closer to parliament, we didn’t hear anything. But on the 4th floor and on the stores/restaurants side, you can hear almost all the street noise. Wouldn’t deter us from going back though.
