Hotel Fron is located in the heart of the pedestrian-only shopping and dining area. Lots to do within a few blocks of hotel. The Fron was spotless, rooms were comfy and quiet, and the included breakfast included a plentiful assortment of breakfast food. Front desk helped get a taxi to the cruise ship dock. Highly recommend this hotel

Although the hotel does have a lift the room we were put in did not and it was difficult taking a heavier suitcase up the hill and stairs to the room just double check. It’s a very suitable hotel though not five star but certainly nice and the restaurant dinner was quite good

Good location, quiet, luggage storage got full and I needed to find mine bag through many, many others. The staff was busy at the front desk. The elevator was not working in the morning which left me to lug bags down tight flight of stairs.

Really nice hotel, with amazing location, very central. I came at 11.30 and wanted to drop my luggage but they said my room was ready and allowed me to check-in, very nice and appreciated. Room is clean, with all necessary amenities. All perfect for my stay. Also good value for Iceland's standard.

Breakfast included was excellent buffet help yourself . dining room space limited for total guests if all come down around the same time. Reception was most accommodating. Luggage storage capacity was always full and should be expanded.

Hotel Fron was great - location and breakfast are awesome. However, don't book though Expedia - book through Hotel Fron directly. You can't make changes to your reservation via Expedia - you can only cancel - and then Hotel Fron is noted as full. Other family members booked directly with Hotel Fron and were able to change their reservation. I ended up paying for a day that I didn't use due to a flight schedule issue - $226.00 lesson learned.

We booked a junior suite. Although the bed was listed as a queen size, we think it was really a double size, but it was very comfortable, regardless. The room was spacious, with a sitting area and a small kitchen with cooking top and fridge. There were dishes, glasses and cups, but no cutlery, and one frying pan and one pot. But we didn’t take advantage of it because we were around the clock with tours. The bathroom was a good size, but the shower area, although clean, could use some extra bleach on the grout. The hot water smelled of sulphur, but although understandable, it may not please everyone. I suggest taking some air freshness. There is no air conditioner, which is understandable, but you can leave the window open and the room will cool very fast. The building is not sound proof. We could hear the cleaning going on and even people talking. Some guest were not gentle while closing the doors. Our door needed some oil on the hinges. The breakfast was included, which is a great way to save money because the cost of food and beverage is very high. Although simple, I thought it was good enough, with plenty of bread, croissants, fresh fruit, cold cuts, boiled eggs, a variety of yogurt (skyr was our favourite type!), coffee and tea. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent, in our opinion. The location of this hotel is perfect (although not reachable by buses). If you are renting a car please note that parking is limited. Overall we enjoyed our staying.
