Perfect stay, lovely staff, clean/spacious room and a great restaurantz

My first visit here and far exceeded expectations especially compared to recent Premier Inn. The friendly staff, the room, the food.

Friendly staff, very nice room with coffee machine and complementary drinks in the fridge. We had nice dinner and breakfast in the pub, was convenient for us to stay one night in the area. The only downside was the sofa bed was not so comfortable and really squeaky! But the kids slept ok and we appreciated being able to stay with our 2 kids in the room.

Overall good stay as a last minute decision.

This hotel was a bit disappointing. The communal areas are nice, the rooms were quite plain. We were in a dog friendly family room that did not feel very clean or fresh. Bed was comfortable though. Most of the staff here are nice and friendly but all are very inefficient. Multiple staff seem to be mulling around, service is extremely slow.

Excellent staff and welcome, room is lovely and clean, everything you want from a nice hotel/inn. We stayed in a family room, which was nice and spacious, my girls said the sofa bed was comfy to sleep on, and we found the bed good too. Pub food was nice, we had dinner one night and breakfast was part of our stay, food itself was great, but menu could offer more variety.

A very friendly welcome, a very comfortable room & bed with some nice complimentary drinks. Air conditioning was very welcome. Super breakfast and evening meal. A very nice hotel, highly recommend.

Rooms are very comfortable with attractive decor.

All staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Whole process of check-in and checkout very easy and seamless. Bed was very comfortable and shower was lovely, breakfast was nice with many options. Enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful clean room and bathroom. Excellent tea & coffee making facilities in the room with a little bottle of fresh milk in the fridge! I loved it, Thank you. It’s our second visit, will definitely be returning.

Staff were very friendly - including the VERY young man on Reception. Food was great. Very relaxed and warm atmosphere.

I have been staying at this hotel for years, on a regular basis. It used to be wonderful. However, over the last 18 months, things have changed and not for the better. Prices have increased, but what we get has decreased, from what is in the room, to breakfast, to service. The efficient staff all seem to have left and there appears to be a major gap in the employees' training. Hotel guests are treated as poor relations, always inconvenienced when there is a function in the pub. There isn’t one aspect, whether it be value for money or service that is a patch on what it was. If you are staying for the first time, then you may be content, but trust me, it should be so much better. I will not be back!.

Propery was nice but sofa bed was uncomfortable this can do with an upgrade and very limted menu choices

The Princess Royal is quite possibly my new favorite hotel bed and breakfast. The accommodations were beyond excellent. The room had air conditioning to beat the summer heat and was very comfortable and relaxing to stay in. We ended up booking a 2nd night because we were so pleased with our stay during the first night. The breakfast was great. They had a continental-style option to start and then a menu to order a fairly wide set of filling options, all included in the very reasonable rate. The staff were excellent, personable, and always looking to go the extra mile to make our stay memorable. Supper was extremely tasty and the pub food offerings generous in portion and flavor. I wish we had places like this in the States.
