Nothing wrong with the resort at all. But the road coming into the resort needs some work.

I was there for 3 nights in a bungalow solo. Didn’t know what to expect. Really enjoyed it. There are a lot of bungalows but each row is elevated so you have a beautiful view of Bras D’Or Lake. Has a bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster with plates etc. they do want to steer you to eating at the restaurant though hence no hot plates. Didn’t eat there as I was out exploring but place was immaculate. Has an indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is more for the bungalows. A nice beach is at the base of the driveway. Wifi was terrible though and cell reception non existent. If you’re nice they’ll give you the password to the staff wifi which is so much better but it’s a secret. There is no air conditioning in the bungalows but plenty of windows and always a breeze off the lake so was comfortable except when it rained. Hard to remove the humidity without A/C. Overall I enjoyed my stay. It was an amazing deal and it exceeded expectations. If you stay in the main building with hotel rooms I think they are more luxurious. Can’t go wrong either way. I recommend. Zero complaints over my 3 night stay.

Front desk clerk was wonderful! She was extremely bubbly and gave plenty of information. The room was not what the photos showed. First thing we noticed was the carpet was/felt wet. It was so humid there was water in the glass doors to go outside. There were bugs, both dead and alive. The property itself has so much potential. But it needs upgrades. So many upgrades. From the dingy 1990’s carpet to the bathroom sink. Will we go back? Only if they were to fix it up and make it worth the $300 we spent. Again, I want to point out that the photos do not show what you’re getting.

Dundee resort is a beautiful place especially for the scenery. The place was in good overall condition except the golf course which needed a lot of work. It could be so much better though. Little things like a patio set on the cottage balconies, the steps going into the cottage could be improved. The food in the dining room was terrible, nothing homemade, just frozen this and frozen that. For the prices they are charging you should be getting a lot more, extremely overpriced. I don’t mind paying high amounts for good food but I could barely choke down half a “smash” burger. The breakfast, for $23 pp, was a small buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and soggy hashbrowns plus some fruit and cereal. Coffee and tea were included but no juices, those were $3 extra. We did not go back the 2nd night. Even the halfway hit on the golf course wasn’t good. Stale buns that wouldn’t stay together, buns were way too big for the hotdog (all you could taste was bread), and just your basic ketchup, mustard and relish for condiments. You can tell they spent money on the aesthetics of the place but now try spending some money and getting some proper food and some small things around the property to really make it stand out. The new owners have had it for 9 years now so I’m guessing it’s what it is, nice but could be really nice.

The hotel portion of the resort was really nice. Friendly staff, clean rooms, nicely cared for grounds. The view from the room was beautiful. The restaurant on site was awful. Poor service at the evening restaurant and breakfast menu not available as advertised (buffet only $22). The buffet was similar to that of a free breakfast hotel (scrambled egg; toast, bacon, sausage, muffins, bagels, fruit and yogurt). No other breakfast option available on site; buffet or nothing.

Patio chairs unusable, drain for sink plugged. No pen/paper in room. No menu for either restaurant in room. If you require additional linens or toiletries you’ll need to ask at the front desk as your room does not automatically receive maid service if staying for more than one evening. We didn’t use it, but the pool facility was nice as was the beach across the street. The price was good as well. Overall, ok but not exceptional.

This is a lovely site to stay at. If you want a relaxing stay then it is a good place to go. It is a little distant from anywhere else but not enough to be a serious problem. I might have been there too early in the season but the dining room didn't open for breakfast until 8 but as a birder I was on the move before that. So I brought breakfast with me. At supper the night before I heard a person arranging a take away breakfast as she had a tee time at 8:15. That's when I realized that since this is also a golf course and people will golf very early that the restaurant should be open early enough to support those golfers. The room was very large. Almost too large but it might not have been if there several of us staying there. The bathroom was large but oddly, the bathtub and shower were very small. Definitely one of those showers that would benefited from having a curved pole extending out into the bathroom to give you more elbow room in the shower. The only semi-serious complaint is that my window wouldn't open. The mechanism wouldn't work which is too bad as I always want fresh air in my room when sleeping. Also being right on the lake, I'm sure I'd have heard birds, like loons, if my window had been open. However these are minor points. It is definitely the place I will stay again the next time I am in the area/

We understood that it was near the end of season. The place itself was very nice and clean and staff were friendly. The one complaint was breakfast. Buffet style. Not nearly enough food to warrant charging $22 per person. It consisted of scrambled eggs, home fries, toast, bacon and sausage. They ran out of eggs and coffee. Like i said, we know it was Oct 17th and close to closing up for the season but if you are going to be open then you need to make sure you have enough food on hand to see you through to the end. If you don't want to do a big order from suppliers than at least make a trip to the grocery store and buy what you think you will need. We were not impressed having to pay $22 per person and there was only limited items to choose from and felt that you couldn't take more because there were other people there that also needed to eat.
