Great location! With plenty of supermarkets and restaurants around, you’ll never go hungry. It’s also close to Stanley Park and the beach, making it perfect for walks. There are many bus stops nearby with various routes for traveling further out. The staff are incredibly friendly and eager to help. The facilities are decent, but the only issue is the very weak Wi-Fi.

I saw many negative reviews on google but I was worried for no reason. The washroom and the bed was clean and that’s the most important part in my opinion. Carpets did look like they need a wash but I used slippers to walk at all times. Property is old so don’t expect anything fancy but location was great. Make sure you bring earplugs because it does get a bit noisy at night. Overall very happy, probably we will book it again if we visit Vancouver.

The English Bay Hotel is perfectly situated along Vancouver's historic waterfront. The property is also located across the street from Chicken World and Mr. Poutine. What more do you want from a world that is normally so cruel, yet in this instance it hands you immediate access to a world full of delicious Fried Chicken AND the crowned prince of poutine himself, Mr. Poutine? The English Bay Hotel may not be the Ritz Carlton is quality or amenities, but it sure is cheap and in a great location. It does what it does very well, gives you a roof over your head, a clean bathroom with stamped toilet paper, and a liquid that can be legally defined as coffee in the morning.

This is a VERY old and run down apartment hotel. The only value is the location, but still overpriced. The windows have no screens and had to crank open a rusty bar to get fresh air, which the room really desperately needed as old carpet smelled. Furniture needs updating immediately - dingy and gross. No instructions or sticker as to how to open shower head and tub had no drain plug, so had to be "creative" with kitchen bowls to rinse off. Parking was a nightmare as I drove around the block 3 times to find the narrow alley to access the underground, and had issues with the overhead door attempting to exit after check-out. There are no restaurants here as ad states - there are a couple of street level take-out shops below the hotel. Construction of the "pastry" shop directly below my room was happening and saws and banging began VERY EARLY (6am) with complete disregard to guests.

Super outdated BUT the room was super spacious and I genuinely felt safe given the state of the building. I was grateful as the other locations in that area were 3x the price. It had an AC unit, full sized fridge.
