It was good. It was warm. It was just not a lot of diversity.

I like that there are fridges in the private rooms. I like that there is a kitchen you can use to cook

Staying here truly made my trip unforgettable. The staff and guests were inviting and friendly. The evening events were welcoming and fun. Yanic is the best bartender with a great taste in music. Including supper and breakfast with the stay was the best incentive and a great way to encourage socializing. I can’t wait to book my next stay.

Ok place, sketchy neighborhood

Staff is great. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch. The price is the best around.

Great place that supports solo travellers. Rooms were basic but clean enough to have a good nights sleep.

Lots of stairs. The building is ancient but the rooms and bathrooms are clean. Free breakfast, free dinner. Staff is excellent. Location is excellent. Value is excellent

Customer services was the worst I have ever experienced. Constantly having to move luggage to lockers at own cost. No accommodation for single women putting them in dorm rooms with 5 men. Unsafe

pretty convenient location and central to downtown

The single room I had was comfy enough, but you could hear everything. As a solo female traveller, I didn’t feel comfortable with the surrounding area so it might not be ideal for someone needing a quieter or more secure-feeling environment.

Room is terribly dirty, no pillow provided

The overly aggressive staff at this apparently exclusive club at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday refused me a room that I had prepaid simply because my passport was issued in the same city as they do business. The explanation given was “we are focusing on, and are only accepting internationals, and students.” Upon inquiring if it was indeed a private club, I was pointed towards the door and told law enforcement would be called if I did not leave. One is left to wonder: at 30 minutes before the desk normally stops taking check-ins, and most websites saying the property wasn’t anywhere near capacity, was there a tour bus expected shortly? Or was it a prejudicial policy based on a previous interaction I had with the management where I revealed I am on disability income? Prima Facie discrimination based on my lawful source of income would surely be a bad look… But… surely we can’t discriminate based solely on place of origin either. That would mean de facto that this service provider does not acknowledge the rights of the traditional peoples who’s un-ceded territory they operate on. Yeah… it was probably the tour bus… At this point, I can’t recommend you do or don’t stay at this exclusive international house of this single worst example of a human rights violation I’ve encountered during the worst housing crisis the City of Victoria has faced… ever. What I can recommend, however, is a that you simply don’t come to this city at all. There is no rich international culture here any more.

Perfect for a work trip! Lovely staff and facilities

The room was spotless, the staff and housekeeping were very friendly and respectful. Farin, Jane, Nazeem, and Yanik stood out as highly professional and I appreciated that very much. I enjoyed my stay just the way it was.

Great staff and very clean facilities. The only downside was the uncomfortable pillows (worst ones I've ever had actually) - they were very hard and thick, and I just slept with my head directly on the mattress instead. It would be good if the hostel considered changing them out in the future.

Really love the night shift gal at the desk! She made my stay! For a hostile this is a really nice place, my only complaints are the beds are very uncomfortable and there’s no milk for tea or coffee in the morning.

They I believe change the room it looks similar to shown one but not exact I believe. I haven’t try their food because not able to find anyone taking order and tea service is bad too. Overall because of hotel stay my trip goes average .

The room was not meant for human stay. The room 14 at this hostel was disgusting Smelled like it has not been cleaned in years? Potatoea and other food were left on the floor. No ventilation and I felt like puking the entire night due to the horrendous smell. I could complain to health canada abd this is wrong my furst stay with Hotelscom is the worst experience
