This is an older property but maintained with excellence. It’s very family friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay at this property again.

The hotel is beautifully located on a sandy beach. It doesn’t have air conditioning but was quite comfortable when the outside temperature was 31 C. It reminds me of old time resorts where they were made of heavy wood and built to last. Our room had a balcony that over looked the garden with a partial view of the beach and lake. Our overnight stay felt like we were at a resort as opposed to staying at a regular hotel room .Really enjoyed the stay

Lake side property with garden, balcony and chairs for each room, picnic area, nice place for vacation, definitely worth coming back.

The property does a really good job of making it look like a grand place to stay and we were quite surprised at how dated and poorly maintained it was for the price and description. We also received an email two days before check in that it does not have AC (maybe my fault for not reading that when booking but seems silly to send me an email with bold letters telling me there is no AC). Also good to mention that there’s a resident cat living in the reception area with cat hair everywhere - two people came that I noticed in our two night stay that were allergic to cats - I’m certain it was not advertised online that cats live there. We loved the idea that it was out on its own private lake (I did not once see people swimming in it and then realized late that it was pretty murky compared to other lakes and beaches in the area) but with only one restaurant with very limited menu items(for such a grand, well advertised chateau), prepare yourself to be driving into revelstoke for food.

We liked the lake and the general nostalgia of the property but otherwise wasn't really for us.

We had one of the “nicer“ rooms with a balcony. It had two queen beds with a little separate bedroom that had another queen bed for our son. The bed linens were old, scratchy and outdated, and the towels were like sandpaper. Think Motel6 in the States. The room had a “remodel” at some point, but the work was seriously amateurish. NO A/C!!! The hotel is located right off the main highway, so it was quite noisy while we were out on our balcony. Finally, we did eat at the restaurant and I can’t stress enough just how horrible the food was. The service was fine, as was the view from the outdoor seating area, but noisy from the highway traffic. The real problem was the food. It literally looked like something that you’d be served in a hospital bed or treatment facility. My wife and I shared the pot roast with mash potatoes and veggies and my son had the teriyaki chicken. The pot roast was cold and the portion meager. The gravy clearly came from a can. The mashed “potatoes” were clearly from instant potatoes and the portion was plated from an ice cream scooper! The vegetables were not fresh… from a frozen bag purchased at Safeway and steamed in a microwave. My son’s teriyaki literally had 4 strips of chicken breast? that appeared to come from a frozen bag of reheated rotisserie chicken. It was mostly rice and even that portion was plated from an ice cream scooper. Bizarre… not to mention WAY overpriced. Definitely eat in town. Better yet, avoid this place all together!

The grounds were beautiful and the scenery was breathtaking. The room we were given was clean and spacious. **THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS.** That said, this resort is lovely. The hot water flow in our shower was low and made getting the correct shower temperature difficult. We would definitely stay here again. Just consider the likely temperature for your stay - if it’s going to be above 35C, you might want to reconsider.

Great stay, peaceful, restaurant was amazing. So much to see. No Ac in the rooms but after the sun goes down past the mountains, the rooms cool down fast. No problem at all sleeping.. we stayed 3 days at plus 30. We also stayed last winter for 1 night and again amazing place. Check in is at 4pm no earlier so time your travel. Nothing negative about this resort, we loved it.

Enjoyed the stay overall. Very rustic setting. The hotel is showing its age. Seems like quite a few small issues such as leaks and other maintenance items that need attention. Could use a facelift and a deep clean. Rooms were clean though and the restaurant on site was great as well. Would definitely stay again. Not your typical hotel by any means. Fun place for sure!

If you are looking for nostalgia this is your place. No extra amenities. No wifi in rooms, no AC in rooms, and no TV channels to choose from that come through clear. The ghost is very cool to walk around. Staff is helpful but will not stay here again.
