The cottage was full of charm and very well equipped with all the necessities. Beds were clean and comfortable and the sitting room and kitchen areas were cosy and well-furnished with a nice attention to detail. All in all a lovely place to stay while exploring the historic centre of this lovely city with its amazing cathedral and fascinating castle. Everyone we spoke to was really friendly and helpful. A great little getaway!

A lovely hotel and restaurant. The room was very good, roomy with a huge bed which was super comfortable. Bathroom was quite small with nowhere to hang towels but shower was excellent. Breakfast was from a menu selection and was excellent quality. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was a lovely atmosphere. There was live music on the Friday night which stopped at 11pm. The location was fantastic in the historic centre and free car parking at the rear of the hotel. Really loved it and would recommend.

Centrally located in the historic district of Lincoln. Ten minutes walk to castle and cathedral and steep hill. Very old and large pub with restaurant. Individual boutique room. One gripe was lack of natural light in our room which was good in every other way. Staff are friendly and helpful. Car park at rear. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location in the centre of the Cathedral quarter. It’s an old building and as such the hotel/pub has quirks but it’s a lovely place to stay. We had a king size room which was extremely spacious with a palatial bathroom.
The breakfast was very good and our stay was great.
The pub itself is great too and the menu is extensive catering for all tastes.
For the price and location it was spot on. We would highly recommend it.

Very comfortable and clean room. Love the claw foot bath tub and the cookies were delicious! A bit hot in the room as there is no AC and the fan has to work overtime. Very close to the cathedral and town center. Breakfast was delicious with good variety.

Lovely oldie worldly pub with rooms and holiday cottages.
Don't expect white walls and clean lines. The furniture is all carefully restored in keeping with the ambience of the pub.
There are several different areas to eat/drink and the breakfast was delicious
Very popular with locals and visitors alike. Weekly live music and events advertised.
We stayed in room 6 which was huge charming and quiet considering the age of the place
The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking at the rear is free.
Would definitely consider a return visit.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Duke William Hotel and it was as good as it was the first time. Situated in an ideal location within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, the cathedral, castle and also Steep Hill, which leads down to even more in the centre.
Property is set in a gorgeous old building and is spotlessly clean with room service every day.
Breakfast choices have to be made the evening before with some unusual dishes you don’t see on many menus, as well as the standard offerings. We also ate in the restaurant one evening which was also very enjoyable.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Only downside the bedrooms do get very warm, although this time two fans were provided due to visiting in the middle of a heatwave, and depending on which room you choose there can be noise early morning from the kitchen.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Ideally placed for an event at Lincoln Castle.
The food was excellent, we had breakfast and our evening meal at the hotel, all of which were great.
The room was clean and spacious.
Only problem we had was with the room temperature. We were there during a summer heatwave and the room was uncomfortably hot. It was equipped with a desk fan which did help but was noisy.
Overall, great, just an unfortunate timing with the heat that we couldn’t do anything about.
