Florence House Hotel & Restaurant

The hotel is situated in a residential area close to the seafront and within walking distance to good restaurants and pubs. The rooms are tight for two people with luggage and there are no lifts. There are a few properties associated with the hotel so I can only comment on the one beside the cabin garden restaurant that is part of the hotel and where we were located. The rooms are clean, the bed for two people was small. The doors in this building, unless people are considerate and close them properly, are constantly banging every time someone closes them as they just let them go consequently they slam which then vibrates throughout all the rooms as walls and floors are not very soundproof. We had a family with children staying above us and the noise was dreadful. That’s not the hotels fault but smart positioning of guests could have avoided it. Breakfast is a buffet and is fine. Parking was easily found and the hotel provided a sign that allowed us free parking. Staff were very friendly and the lady who checked us in helped with our cases which was a nice touch. As there are so many houses and hotel rooms so tightly consolidated close together you do hear people coming and going, neighbours talking all night outside, movement of people above you and as mentioned doors slamming shut be it room or staff doors. Neighbour noises might be different on a cold night as they would not be outside but we hit warm weather and it was the opposite situation.

Booked last minute and it was a real treat! The stuff was lovely the room turned out to be a 2 bedroom flat (without the kitchen!) Ive never had a vegan burrito for breakfast but I would have it again! Location very convenient to reach the seafront and the bus stop and parking was relatively easy to find

Fantastic Staff and a great Hotel. Parking was easy and there was a very good bar across the road that stayed open until people stopped drinking! Super stay. Great Location

The room was comfortable. The breakfast was freshly made and of good quality. The location was very convenient and close to Hovercraft station if you want a day trip to Isle of Wight.

Lovely comfortable clean room. Breakfast was a bit chaotic as it's a small buffet area but the food was tasty.

We paid for parking and were very happy to find a reserved place with our name on it as it’s a busy area so clos to the sea. It’s well placed for access to the sea and buses. Breakfast was very pod and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

This hotel has a good location near Southsea Beach and is definitely value for money

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have a pet but we did see pets joining in for breakfast so obviously they are pet friendly. Lovely hotel.

We love this place and have seen it grow. Always welcoming, clean and the perfect spot for everything.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Parking was difficult and needed to be paid for. Bed was clean and lots of nice pillows. Rooms could do with a deep clean. Breakfast was excellent.

Great place, we had two dogs and stay were so welcoming and a lovely spacious ground floor Florence suite made taking them out easy. Food great too
