Room was a bit dusty. Bed was clean. Bed seemed like a small double. Building was very nice, it is in an old bank. Staff were nice. For the price we paid I thought it was very good. Less than £50 a night for a double room. Breakfast was good. I got a nice fry every day. Good location just behind Mathew street..

Worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. Entered the room and it smelt awful. Went out for the evening, returned after 12am, the Ring door bell was not on and we had to wait 15 minutes before someone let us in. Entered the room and it was freezing cold, the heater wasn’t working. Picked up the phone to call the front desk and the phone wasn’t working. We had to search the entire hotel for the night attended. When she got to the room she stated that the heater was broken and there were no space heaters available & no other rooms available. So we had to suffer through the night in the cold! Interesting how one of the highlights of the hotel is heating included…. Reported this issue to the morning manager. She recorded the issue and said she would forward the incident to a senior manager & they would be in touch in regards to any compensation. Several weeks passed & not a single attempt to contact me. I had to reach out myself and got no where when I did! Expedia reached out on my behalf and had to wait 2 weeks before hearing anything back, themselves. They refused any and all compensation. This hotel is a joke and doesn’t value their guest. I would give this ZERO stars if I could. Would never recommend this place to anyone; better off sleeping outside because it’s warmer.

My husband and I had a great 2 night stay for his birthday. Staff were friendly, check in was easy and breakfast was amazing! A beautiful looking hotel from outside and inside. The stair cases are wonderful! I chose to take the stairs even though we were on the top floor; however, there is a lift of required. Although clean, the bedroom let it down slightly as it was very small with a small double bed. The mattress was really hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small but modern. Furthermore, the room was way too hot, without any way of switching off the heating, which made it slightly uncomfortable at night. The restaurant part of the hotel is really beautiful and modern. Breakfast was the best I've had whilst staying at a hotel. There's a menu with multiple choices to choose from. Being coeliac, I'm always having to pre-plan my meals; however, the staff were attentive and made me aware of suitable choices; which was still a lot. Parking is a 5 minute walk through the side streets and we were given a ticket for a discount. Just make sure you ask when checking in. The location is amazing - we did junkyard golf, the comedy club, breakout room and different restaurants and shopping which were all within walking distance. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would stay again.

Just checked out of Sir Thomas hotel Very central location. Decor in the room was very dark and not my taste but other than that I couldn't fault it.Ironing board, iron and hairdryer all supplied. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Only negative is they don't have luggage storage. I would be willing to pay a small fee for that service. Would certainly recommend it and would stay again.

Breakfast was ok. But nothing standout! Only dairy, no soya, etc. Not acceptable in 2026. Brown bread was not on offer until I asked 3 times before it came. All three bread was very cheap and not acceptable quality. Breakfast staff were slow and lacked any attempt to engage meaningfully.

The lights in the room did not work, on arrival we had to wait 20 mins for the bar man to attend the reception desk as he was doing both jobs. The included hot breakfast was not available in the morning ( apparently somebody called Martha was off) and when i asked if i could leave a ruck sack for a few hrs while my son and i looked around the cit centre, i was told they had no storage facility ?! Poor hotel , best avoided.

Basic room, single paned glass window which meant we were woken constantly through the night. Kitchen having maintenance problems so no hot breakfast. Could feel the springs in the mattress. Not listed on the listing or the website but the discounted car park is the NCT car park not the one opposite the hotel. Friendly staff

It was in a great location, by Everyman Cinema, bus stops & the shopping area. We were given the disability room 101 with twin beds. It was large & spacious with huge windows overlooking the carpark, which when the window is open provided vocal entertainment plus traffic noise. The shower pressure was poor, but the facilities were good. 4 Disability pull alarms in the room & disability grab handles by the sink, plus a toilet bar. The shower screen pivots for easy entry. No toilet brush & no opening window The beds were hard & uncomfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee/ hot choc with kettle & small tea cups. Breakfast was nice, good choice from the menu. The buffet was ok, but make sure that you get there early so that you have the choice before it has all gone. The coffee was very weak, almost like tea & it took a while to be replaced after I told a member of staff. Worst part about this hotel is that they will not store luggage. Had we known this then we would have spent the £20 cost of storing, at a different hotel.
