Lovely clean room with very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Superb views across to the hills behind the village. Very nice toiletries provided and excellent tea/coffee/hot chocolate in room facilities with biscuits! I really enjoyed the comfortable residents lounge which was unexpected but a nice place to relax and read a book (motor racing or vehicle enthusiasts will enjoy the book selection). The breakfast was very high quality with local Ingredients and beautifully presented. Gluten free and vegetarian options were available. We would happily stay again. Only slight downside is the church bells which chime all through the night (why?). The proprietors very thoughtfully provided ear plugs but if the windows are open these are insufficient against the bells which provide an alarm clock on the hour, every hour throughout the night. Keeping the windows closed would probably alleviate this but if you like fresh air at night and are a light sleeper it might be difficult to get a good nights sleep which is a shame as the beds are so comfortable. We would definitely stay again though as The Belfry is very good value and extremely well appointed. There is a pub literally across the road which serves food on some evenings (think it was Wednesday to Saturday during our visit). We ate there and it was very convenient to be able to walk there, friendly and reasonably priced pub grub options.

Breakfast ok , fruit pot delicious, not much choice other than full english or the ingredients of fill english,or smoked salmon room was lovely, just no interaction from owners other than shouting your name through the breakfast hatch or rushing clearing tables while still eating. Property up for sale so maybe they've lost the joy in hosting

Beautiful building, nice large room, super comfortable mattress, duvet and pillows. Lovely little touches like earplugs (yes the church clock chimes through the night, I didn’t hear it but my husband did), make up remover pads and shower caps. Lovely breakfast cooked to order. Super friendly people, and the communal fridge under the stairs with milk and juices to help yourself to is a really thoughtful addition.

A really lovely night's stay. Friendly and quick check in. Warm and comfortable room, beautifully furnished. And an amazing shower! Breakfast was fantastic, a very good selection which was freshly cooked to order. There is a friendly pub over the road which serves basic, but tasty food in the evenings. All in all highly recommended. We will definitely be returning.

Owner was so friendly & accommodating & the room was comfy & bright. Lively L’Occitane toiletries in the bathroom to o & quality tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits in the room. Great to have milk available in the fridge at the bottom of the stairs for tea & coffee & also somewhere to store our food we’d brought with us. Breakfast was fantastic & cooked to order! Shame the pub across the road didn’t do food though! Would’ve been nice to pop across the road for dinner! Would highly recommend this special place & it was close enough to drive to & spend some time in Honiton town Centre to pick up some supplies & have some retail therapy!!

Nice enough place, clean and inexpensive. Run with minimum people, so there was little in the way of interaction. Very close to the A30 and opposite the church, recommend you use the thoughtfully provided earplugs or take your own for the best night's sleep.

We had a very comfortable stay - a good bed and a comfortable sofa were much appreciated, as was the surprise of discovering our room was serviced. There was a thoroughlystocked in-room tea tray, L'Occitane toiletries and a wide choice of breakfast options. Fresh milk and juice were freely available downstairs and there was a guest lounge too. The only slight downside was poor drainage in the shower, combined with hardware that seemed to give the options of either off, or full-on, resulting in some sloshing around and a speedy exit to avoid a flood!
