Got our stay for a massive discount of £8, such an incredible deal, very happy with our stay! Friendly staff, good size room and great value for money.

Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome; hotel in a great location and the room was spacious with a wonderful view, specialist diet/allergies catered for on the varied breakfast menu. Clearly the hotel is being refreshed under new management for 2026. We managed to park each time, but imagine it could be more difficult in high season when things are busier.

I have had the misfortune of staying in many hotels, but this easily takes the title of the absolute worst. The only reason this place isn't getting zero stars is the location, but even that comes with a massive "buyer beware" warning. The Mobility Nightmare: While the hotel is close to the beach, "close" means navigating a relentless series of steep stairs. This theme continues inside; there are stairs to get everywhere. This building is a complete no-go if you have any mobility issues or heavy luggage. It is the furthest thing from "user-friendly" I’ve ever seen. Filth and Decay The word "dated" is too kind. it’s gross and falling apart. The carpets are covered in mystery stains and are literally fraying at the seams. In our room, bits of the wall were actually crumbling off. The bathroom was a joke: the toilet roll holder fell off the wall the moment it was touched, and the shower was a pathetic trickle that barely qualified as running water. The Breakfast Fiasco Don't bother waking up for the food. Despite breakfast supposedly serving until 9:30 AM, we arrived just before 9:00 AM to find absolutely nothing left. No replenishment, no effort, just empty trays. Service While the reception staff were admittedly nice, the rest of the team clearly didn't want to be there and were far from welcoming. Verdict: Save your money. The sea view isn't worth the filth, the broken fixtures, and the exhaustion of navigating a hotel that is essentially an obstacle course. Disgusting!

First impressions were quite good. Helpful receptionist. Although we did notice a fairly grubby carpet in the reception area. And then upon walking to our room noticed the light coloured carpet throughout was grubby and stained with spillage here and there. Our room was somewhat disappointing Although did have a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was smelly with the suite chipped in various places and the power cable to the towel rail was crudely drilled through the wall to the adjacent hallway. There was a live singer directly below us which kept us awake until quite late. Sorry but we will not be returning to this establishment. Requires vastly modernising.

This hotel is in a great location, but is really run down. The carpets are all stained, stairwell musty smelling, and the elevator only serves part of the hotel. The free parking is nice (when available) but be prepared to haul your bags up and down the street and stairs. Breakfast was good, but not available until 8am.

Bedding very clean bathroom and white towels also clean. Toiletries pathetic! View from the bedroom window superb! Uninterrupted view of the beach and sea. The bedroom carpet was reasonably clean but ceiling and wall paint peeling. Windows old and filthy and not able to be opened given a fan that was useless! Curtains broken old and hanging off in places Generally extremely dilapidated hotel Public areas bereft of any character with old extremely filthy stained carpets throughout. I could not with any conscious recommend to anyone Position of hotel to town is superb. Such a shame

This hotel has great views. Almost everything else sucks. You are greeted by a dusty, stained carpet. The service, not that welcoming and the typical information you would expect…WiFi, timing of breakfast, reminder of check out times etc was not forthcoming and when asked, information was relayed with zero enthusiasm. Staff at breakfast were better and the breakfast was okay. As for cleanliness, if you are staying here, walk with sanitizer and flash. If you have a dust allergy, forget it. It’s a shame because the accommodation is roomy and the sea view, lovely.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Carpets downstairs were so bad but presume they are in process of changes. ?? Bedrooms seem to have recently been done up. Large with an amazing view of Porthminster beach. But single glazed as old building so quite noisy. Also noise from other floors and creeky floorboards! Bedside sockets did have USB bedroom clean but bathroom floor not great. Skip out the front plus old broken chairs outside against building doesn’t look good. But good location for town and did the job for a one night stay. Got a free parking place out front of the hotel, next to broken chairs. First come basis. Also very useful in St ives.

We couldn’t even stay the night because the window was boarded up with wood. And the fan that was provided was blowing hot air and was full of dust.

We have just returned. On arrival the man at reception was quite rude and abrupt Our room was horrible, the shower broke so unable to shower for one day.. No maintenance man on call to repair so one of the young girls at reception give a go. She got it working but it only had one temperature (scalding hot). Back we went to reception, she said she would try her best for us and to be fair it was working when we came back.apart from the rude man at reception desk, the rest were all good. The property needs a complete refurbishment. So tired and dirty. The carpet,we'll I've never seen anything like it. Breakfast ok and location very good, but the owner needs to pull his finger out

The hotel is situated in a good position to walk into St Ives or beach within minutes. The view was amazing too. Room was comfortable, clean but in need of a revamp. The parking was a massive bonus for St Ives, unable to use lounge areas as had our little dog with us.

The part of the hotel that we given was the old part which to be honest requires a complete refurbishment with a lift as we thought there was a lift but not on our side especially as we were on the 2nd floor and pensioners We were not told what time breakfast was or where to go for it also the shower in our room was intermittent so all in all not a great experience

TV and Shower didn't work, there is no air conditioning or Wifi available in the building. The hotel is pretty old and well overdue its imminent refit at the end of the season. Location is 10/10 right by st ives train station overlooking the bay. Quite noisy at night and the rooms get extremely hot even with windows open and fan blowing (we stayed end of June it wasnt even that hot outside!)

Fantastic location in the area and great parking facilities which is a real plus. Unfortunately our room - despite having a lovely sea view - had a strong overbearing smell, a very stained carpet and visible mould in the bathroom which was unpleasant.

Good location near train station and away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Stunning views, more than made up for out dated decor. Lovely to lie in bed listening to the waves and have an early morning cuppa. Plenty of choice for breakfast and was able to drop my bag off at the hotel on way into town when I arrived and pick up for my train when I left.

I recently stayed at this hotel in St Ives and had a very disappointing experience. The room I was given did not match what was shown in the booking photos at all. It felt misleading and not worth the money. Cleanliness was a major issue — the room was not properly cleaned, which made the stay very uncomfortable. Basic services were also missing, and when I raised these concerns with the staff, there was little to no response or effort to resolve the situation. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and mismatch between the advertised and actual room made this a very negative experience. I would not recommend this hotel to others and strongly suggest future guests be cautious before booking.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. The property is a little dated and could benefit from some refurbishment, but overall we had a pleasant stay. The only issue we experienced was parking on arrival, as there were no spaces available and we had plans for the day. However, the staff were extremely helpful, took my keys, and arranged to move the car as soon as a space became free. Their professionalism and willingness to help really made a difference.
