Great location, very close to Oxford Train station and Bus station. Oxford campuses/colleges are also walking distance away from the hotel. Perfect for travelers affiliated to Oxford colleges.

We were concerned when walking in as the building seems exceedingly old but the place was spotless! Narrow staircase for those who are mobility impaired, simple continental breakfast included.

Here’s a clearer, polished version of your review while keeping your original points and tone: We stayed for one night in this “cheap and cheerful” hotel. We had a twin room with an ensuite, which was clean, but some features felt very dated, especially the wardrobe and carpet. The beds were comfortable, though. Unfortunately, we found it quite noisy. It wasn’t just the building work outside you could hear people walking past due to creaky floorboards, and the noise from the room above sounded like a herd of elephants, even with earplugs in. Breakfast was included, but we were told at check-in that it was only a continental breakfast, not a cooked one. That said, it was decent for what it was. The staff were very helpful and friendly, which was a definite plus. Overall, the building feels quite dated, but the location is excellent very close to the town centre and the new theatre, all within walking distance. There’s also a car park just a minute away, costing £12.50 per day.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience here was extremely disappointing. The condition of the property fell far below what I would expect from a hotel, and it raised serious concerns about cleanliness and safety. Even at a significantly lower price, I would not consider this good value for money. I’m genuinely surprised that the current standards are considered acceptable, as the overall environment felt more like a health risk than a place to stay. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes substantial improvements, as the property has a lot of potential if properly addressed.

Booking in is not the time to find out that the breakfast you paid for is only cereal and fruit - anything else is additional. Then find out that the room is overlooking a building site with 24 hour working. First night ok as constant rain, but second night spent awake listening to diggers reversing. Tiny room, hot with no way to ventilate. I could go on. Will be complaining

The owner said he tried to tell us about the construction by the railroad and asked that guests get the information before they arrive. He was wonderful and our stay was too but it would have helped to know how to get there. We were very confused.
