Barceló Huatulco - All Inclusive

The room was nice and clean; staff friendly and everything was close and easily accessible, pool, ocean and restaurants

The room was clean and the cleaning staff was excellent. the servers were also very courteous and helpful. The major problem was the buffet food was always cold and not a huge selection. i also got food poising and was very sick for 2 days and i really couldn't eat or drink for the last 4 days of the trip. This was very disheartening considering we went to a Barcelo in p/v and it was hands down better. we loved your location but with my experience i don't think i will come back. i will come back Huatulco again and definitely the one in p/v. the elevators only 1 was working and when we selected our floor it always went right by and went to the more expensive floors then came back and were always full.

Rooms very clean and the resort grounds well looked after. Friendly staff. Buffet was okay, could use some improvement and variety could have been better. Great beach access with swim-able ocean front!

For the most part. The public bathrooms at the resort were not as well kept as they should have been.

We ate at the Mexican and Italian à la carte restaurants and had excellent meals and very attentive service there. The buffets were okay. Drinks varied from one time to the next. Two of us needed to eat Gluten Free. Neither of us are Celiac. I wouldn’t have been confident eating here if I were Celiac. A lot of misunderstanding with the language barrier. They offered to make us GF waffles or pancakes one morning. I got some, she didn’t, so we shared, no problem. The next day I specifically asked for waffles for dos personas, and pointed to us both. I got one stack of 3 pancakes. The next day, same chef, asked for waffles, and my friend pointed to herself said 1 pointed to me and said 2. I got a plate with 2 pancakes, she got a plate with 1. A couple of times they pointed to something and said we couldn’t have it because it contained milk. A different lady was gluten and dairy free, so maybe he was remembering her. Most chairs with shade are saved by 6:30am. Chairs are very crowded together and not comfy. The resort was a bit dated, but clean. We snorkeled and saw quite a few fish at the far end of the beach by the rocks. Nice sand, it was soft, but granular, so didn’t stick like powder. The nightly entertainment shows were very well done. The dancers and band were amazing. A lot of money spent on costumes, lights, video. Our wrist band keys were mixed up between our friends’ room and ours, but it never got corrected. Not terrible, but we have had better.

The staff is always wonderful and attentive. The facilities are always very clean. They need to add to the selection of specialty restaurants.

Service was great, overall property was low key but easy to get around. Can see it has been around for awhile and needs a refresh.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was very clean.

Bad food, poor options, inexperienced staff.

Really perfect in many ways but I did not give 5 stars as: at least 2 elevators out of service; very slow check in line (45 min to get my turn); too much unhealthy western food, esp at lunch, with the live grill at Tortuga serving fresh fajita only once in our 13 night stay while offering hamburger, hot dog, fries, fried chicken (bland version of KFC) daily. Specialty restaurants were wonderful, best mahi mahi. Overall great selection but we never saw enchiladas, burritos, and fresh tacos were infrequent. Marvellous beach - 2 km total return. We gave up on the evening shows that are usually amplified to 90-94 decibels (in the back row). Room 628 was excellent; free high speed wifi now throughout the hotel. House wines were Spanish and better than many resorts. Overall we would return to Barceló.

Spa very expensive and same with their store. Staff exceptionally welcoming and amazing customer service that way - housekeeping/minibar were also excellent. There is not snorkelling out front of this resort for those who would like that.
