Nice building, I would have preferred a sea view but the view out the back is decent. There is a draft when the window is opened that is quite loud under the door. The staff were eager to help where possible

Excellently situated. Staff very helpful and friendly. Basic cleaning good but a morning spent wiping grubby door surrounds would improve overall look.

The hotel entrance is very pleasant and reception area The hailways and stairwell would defiantly benefit from new carpet or stain removal. The room was dated as expected, but it was dusty, had a broken lights, whilst we paid for a room with a view (not sea view) we looked out on the fire escape and a wall. It was fine for a night but disappointing The onsite parking is a great asset

Room was dirty, window and terrace filthy, however the downstairs lounges, bar and dining rooms were good. Anyone can see the hotel needs a good clean overall.

The hotel is old world , but badly needs a bit of loving care , but despite being a Britannia Hotel... it was fairly good. We were eating out , but the restaurant looked very nice. with good value prices. Our 'Seaview room turned out to be a 'Partial View' not Seaview as shown on website which comes at an extra charge of £15. Hotels.com needs to be more careful when advertising rooms... Seaview - to me -does not mean Partial Seaview.

Good convenient place to stay.

Very spacious room, clean and comfortable. Need a shelf of some kind in shower for shower gel etc, made showering a bit tricky. Could also do with fans in room when hot weather. Building looking a bit tired but super location and clean. Would definitely stay again. Fridge in room was a bonus in the hot weather.

Great position right next to the sea. Bar staff were very helpful. Bed could have been more comfy.

False advertising- i paid for a room with air conditioning and upon getting to the room, the AC was broken with a sign. We requested a room change and our room was changed 4 times as all of the advertised rooms with AC didn’t have AC. Every room either smelled like pee or had something broken with cards asking for maintenance notes. Do not stay here.

The outside of the property especially the entrance let's it down. Need a good clean, bring the blue tiles back to shine and the stairs

The staff were lovely, especially the receptionist, she was lovely and helpful, very friendly. The hotel need a bit of TLC, our room was very basic and stained carpets and the radiator hasn’t been dusted in a very long time!! Brilliant to have parking and right opposite the band stand which was great to listen and watch from our room!

Really enjoyed our stay. The bed wasnt comfortably tbh but everything else was very pleasant

Not made to feel welcome by reception & bar staff! No loo roll in room and when I asked at reception for toilet rolls to be sent to room, I was informed that they don’t do room service and if we had wanted special requests in room then we should have emailed 24 hours before arrival - to be honest I had no idea what she was talking about! Everything was too much trouble! Music and lights turned off in bar between 10.50pm & 11pm leaving us to finish our bottle of wine in semi darkness! At breakfast, music again was turned off and doors shut at 9.55am with staff coming in and out getting drinks from the buffet! Terrible customer service. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again! Britannia hotels have a very low standard.

Lovely hotel, our room, although a little dated was a great size, large balcony, wonderful views. We had a full bathroom which was perfect and also plenty of tea, coffee and milk not like a lot of fancy hotels where you just get two milk cartons. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast had a good selection.

The Superior room that we paid for was NOT a Superior room! We was very disappointed with our stay at this hotel.

The Cavendish was extremely dirty and in poor condition. We paid for what was shown on the website as a lovely (standard double) we were given a room down many filthy dirty stairs to a dirty room on its own past dirty broken unused dumped tables opposite a staff doorway (room number 64) this room SHOULD NOT be in use. It was like being taken down to the basement dungeon.The window glass was broken..it was dirty, the curtains didn't fit the window and was freezing cold. I spoke to staff who did move us upto level 3 to another room.I would not recommend this hotel for your stay in Eastbourne
