Wonderful location ,wonderful staff and excellent food. One real problem for me was the intense noise from the floorboards above. This wasn't creaks but near crashings! It is an old building but the noise from corridors is also significant. As this is a wedding hotel one night stays will be typical so guests won't be likely to comment. Two broken nights for me was enough. All that said I would stop again but perhaps the top floor!

A great hotel with an outstanding staff team. Every member of staff we came across was professional, friendly and very helpful - from the extremely welcoming reception team, through the breakfast and bar staff, to a lovely groundsman who provided fascinating insight into the history of the hotel. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was extremely spacious and well equipped; the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spectacular. As an older building, there wasn’t any air conditioning (a fan was provided) and the floorboards were creaky, but that was to be expected and didn’t detract from the beautiful environment and atmosphere. The hotel had a huge lake and a lovely garden area, with outside seating to enjoy the peaceful setting. This was our first visit but definitely a place we will return to.

Lovely property, staff are normally great but let down a little by the condition in some of the rooms, particularly in bathroom areas. It won't stop me staying again.

Very nice Hotel. Definitely return. Staff were faultless. Food was excellent. Bathroom is good quality but little dated. Overall assessment very happy with our stay.
