Hotel Kurrajong Canberra

A contemporary, attractive room within a hotel with character and style that you don’t get from a new hotel. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was appeared to be relatively new and modern in design. I was pleasantly surprised by the room as I thought it may be a bit ‘tired’ looking being in an older hotel. Easy access by car. Being over the weekend, you could pay for parking onsite or find nearby street parking. Also handy to have access to 2 small ev chargers if needed. Overall, very happy with my choice of hotel.

Meeting my disability requirements is always crucial to my stay, and the necessary adjustments were made. Sitting by the fire reading a book and sipping a cocktail is always an evening treat! Breakfasts were great too and the coffee! Staff are always cheerful and helpful.

Excellent value, very comfortable rooms and facilities

The hotel grounds, lobby and restaurant were beautiful. Historic looking and cosy. Our room was nice on first look. In second look, there was a note on the bench saying the soda water had exploded in the fridge (not sure who left that). The soda water was still there and continued to crack and explode throughout the stay. There was a dead cockroach on the fridge handle which was never removed. (I didn't ask, I wanted to see what would happen). The bathroom door didn't open or close properly without strong force. There was a whirring noise coming from the bathroom ceiling the whole time. We couldn't figure it out. The parking was $18 extra per night, however the car parks are on either side of the building. One was our side and was always full by nighttime as it was small, so we had to park on the other side which was a walk in the freezing cold with my son all the way around to our room. Would have been closer parking in the street on our side. The area is super quiet. Lots of businesses. Close drive to a lot of the main attractions including questacon, library, museums etc. overall, a pretty hotel and restaurant is nice. Outdoor area is nice too but wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely hotel, lovely room, very comfortable. Disappointed that there was no buffet for breakfast. Waited 1hr 15 mins for breakfast after ordering at bar. would have been quicker at local restaurant.

Breakfast was order only no buffet, on one occasion we waited over and hour for our ordered breakfast. Parking is not under cover and limited plus had to pay daily amount. Suggest they switch to buffet style breakfast. Overall the hotel is well maintained and in a good location, the rooms are small but functional.

Fantastic staff. Great central location.

Not a bad place, rooms ok in size but hat to use radiators as heaters, not sure what happens to the AC. Looks like a general way oh heating judging of the amounts of units. Parking 18$ and the bat closes at 10pm on a Saturday. Central location for sightseeing.

There were three main issues with the Kurrajong Hotel. Firstly, the bed was very hard and there was an obvious dip in the mattress. During the night, I heard the springs ping in the mattress and if you slept too close to the edge, the mattress collapsed. I had a very poor sleep. I approached the front desk, I was told there was nothing that could be done as housekeeping went home. During checkout this morning, the assistant manager said we could have been moved to a different room. The gutters on the roofs have rusted through. This meant that when it rained overnight, dripping was heard and woke us up. Finally, while I understand that the resturant was closed yesterday, I still can't understand why bar food couldn't be ordered and secondly, why there was no table service for breakfast this morning.

Loved the Heritage feel of the place. We stayed in the Heritage king room at the top of the stairs and were only occasionally disrupted by clomping on the stairs, but not woken during the night. Huge room, huge bed, huge shower! Dinner in Chifley's Bar and Grill was just as special with attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere and great food. A fantastic spot tucked away for a weekend, but not too far from anything! First time for me, but won't be the last. We've found out new home away from home in Canberra.

Our stay was on the long weekend, busy & cold. Staff were very friendly and managed well with all the guests. Our room was cold and heat appeared not to be working. On informing the staff it was fixed properly. This was my 4th time here and will stay again on a visit to Canberra. Good food.

Lovely old hotel. Staff are friendly. I feel the complimenry bottle of wine should be in the fridge not handed to you warm at reception. These little things go along way when staying at a hotel. Also refills in the bathroom need to be checked each time the room is cleaned.

Lovely historic hotel with a welcoming foyer and open fire. Friendly staff at check-in and parking was available, though the car park was almost full. Our rooms were well-appointed and the bed was comfortable. A range of tea was provided as well as a pod coffee machine and mini bar. The hotel was a short drive to some great restaurants, Pomegranate and Minima. I would stay there again.

24 hour access good and staff responsive. The room was clean but the TV remote didn't work.

Beautifully presented hotel in a great location

The location is perfect, right in the heart of Canberra. It's super convenient for visitors who have a car, and you can get around easily without a hitch. Plus, they have free EV charging stations, and the staff are really friendly and always helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in the interconnecting rooms. The rooms could have been bigger for the price, but they're super cute and well-kept throughout, giving off an antique vibe. Parking was also a breeze.
