I've never stayed in a very inexpensive hotel for 35 to 40 years. This place was a very surprising little jewel, helpful staff, clean amenities. If a little dated, a nice place to stop, I paid less than 50 pounds for bed and breakfast, the full english breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely. And I can only recommend this place for a cheap, cheap hotel. Stay.

The parrot was a highlight! The cooked breakfast was good, there's an option to have cereal, toast, then cooked breakfast but I'm glad we skipped the cereal and just had 1 piece of toast.

This place is a little gem. The service is brilliant. The rooms are great and dont be put off by a shared bathroom. The one I used had the finest power shower I have ever seen.
I will always use this hotel when I am in this area. Cant recommend highly enough. Tremendous value for money.

No sink to wash your hands in the shared toilet.
Shower tray was dirty.
The breakfast wasn’t cooked properly leaving un edible.
The manager to great delight in showing off her parrot as she had taught it to say, profanities.

The pub is clean and handy to bus station and train station and Tesco. No dinner served, but good Chinese very close. Rooms are very small. It was hot when we stayed, a fan would have been good

When booked it says take blanket&pillow case?no need bedding is included..
Shared bathroom clean&tidy.
After 10.30 gets really loud with jukebox,on a main road..if you a light sleeper this is no good.but i enjoyed my stay it was for one night..breakfast was excellent! Cereals toast and a full English was excellent for my journey
I would definitely stay again if was down that end..very impressive.

Overall experience was mixed. Upon arriving I was greeted by a friendly owner/manager who took me upto my room, passing the enormous fishtank (🤔) and gave me a quick layout of the place. Leaving me to it I was given the choice of when I wanted my breakfast the next morning which was good 👍
Unfortunately from there on in, the experience deteriorated... There was food and a bottle of coke (see photos) left from the previous occupant, no toiletries were provided for a shower, bed and floorboards were extremely creaky and when the room next door turned in bed it shook my own bed.
I expected noise from the pub downstairs but didn't expect it to be exactly as loud as it was. Biscuits provided were out of date by the time I finished my 3 night trip and the best thing about the traditional breakfast was the toast and cereal beforehand.
Accommodation providers were friendly and location was pretty good however shame the rest let it down.
