Zanzibar Locke

I checked in after a long day of traveling. I dropped the bags and went to get some food. When I came back the room was very cold. I couldn’t get the temp. console to work - their technician came and vacuumed the filter through an access panel which he opened in the ceiling. Lots of dust. Yeuch. I waited to see if the room warmed up but it just got colder. It was getting late, was in my pjs, and the solution offered was to put me in another room or get a portable heater. Exhausted, after 24 hours traveling, I opted for the heater. The heater struggled to heat the now freezing room and was too noisy to leave on when trying to sleep. Throughout, there’s a loud buzzing in the ceiling that sounds like an angry alarm clock, it’s intermittent, then becomes regular, then buzzes randomly. Between that and how cold it is I can’t get to sleep and I’m freezing! I’ve had to put my coat on the bed to stay warm. It’s 1:35 am and while I expect outside noise in the city it’s the interior hotel/ceiling/pipe/electric noises and cold that are keeping me awake. A while ago someone began hammering. Maybe it’s another guest trying to get to the source of the noise? My first experience with Zanzibar Locke was such a positive one that’s why I returned. This time, hmmm, not so much. I’m not sure I’d recommend Zanzibar to a fellow long-haul traveler. Great location though and the room is clean and very nicely laid out. Thank you.

Lovely place , very friendly staff, relaxing calm enviroment , excellent cheese board and crumble . Evening meal 1st nght not so good but dessert lovely. Cple little niggles had trouble 2 nights turning off lights , and someone had filled showergel bottle with water and hadnt been replaced . However the delightful staff and surroundings made up for this

Great spot, great rooms.

Had complete kitchen and laundry in the room. Very cute set up with a little couch and two seat table. Very quiet on this side of the bridge! Close walking distance to many famous bars, stores and sites. There is a grocery store a few minutes away. Staff was very friendly. There is a gate that locks in evening for safety you access with your key. Coffee shop is great too.

Clean rooms. Excellent staff. Great location. Nice to have kitchen.

The room size was good however there was hardly any lighting in the room, the shower kept getting blocked and overflowing into the bathroom, the towel rack heating didn’t work, I got food poisoning from the restaurant, the room heating was too hot no matter how low we made it. All in all our stay there was mediocre.

Friendly staff, perfect central location

This hotel was perfectly located in Dublin. It was clean and the staff were great. We enjoyed the bar and met people from all over the world. Kitchen was not as well-stocked as other places we’ve stayed but was adequate. The washer/dryer combo was terrible. It was tiny and a wash load took at least 2 hours. The dry cycle took HOURS. The extra cost for a room with laundry was not worth it. Other than this, we really enjoyed our stay.

The room was perfect .. staff excellent. We were disappointed by the restaurant.. paid an exorbitant amount for a Christmas dinner that was not well presented, cold, dried out ham and wait staff lacking .. we were given a token discount but really took away from our Christmas..

Great location / great staff very helpful / very friendly/ would stay there again / room was great had a washing machine to wash clothes after travelling from another country which was great / highly recommend to stay here

Great location. Beds were a little saggy. Enjoyed the little kitchen and the coffee shop on the main floor.
