Occidental Torremolinos Playa

We stayed June 2026 as a family of three. The check in process is absolute carnage. I waited over a hour, with a 7 month old baby. I tried to ask the receptionist if my mum could take her to the restaurant and he was extremely rude. They then put us in an area on the second floor with no lift and we had a pram. I did complain about this that night and again the receptionist was so rude. The next day I spoke with the manager and they moved our rooms the next day at guest services. Which was great. The food was fab, the male receptionist in the picture was just down right rude and deserves to be called out.

☀️ Another wonderful stay at the Occidental Torremolinos ☀️ A firm favourite for a short break and one we’ll definitely be returning to. Modern, bright rooms, friendly staff, excellent food, branded drinks and a fantastic beachfront location. Perfectly placed for a day exploring Malaga or a lovely coastal walk through Torremolinos and on to Benalmádena. Sunshine, sea views and complete relaxation… what’s not to love?

Room very small no dressing table. Bed comfy . Beach the best less crowded and lovely sunbeds 10 euros . Pool area too crowded . B and b enough , torremolinos 5 mins in cab to nice restaurants and 15 mins to Malaga old town . Reception staff and bar staff friendly

Really great hotel very hard to fault anything. It is far from town centre though

We spent 5 nights for a short vacation, breakfast included (not all-inclusive) and with 5 years old kid. We have paid for room with sea view. 1.) Hotel has really great location, right at the beach, super close supermarket just outside, 5 minutes from train station to Malaga. 2.) Hotel is very clean very nice staff, no complains 3.) Breakfast was very nice, wide selection including sparkling wine, we paid also for dinner- also great selection very tasty, no complains at all 4.) Chcek-in was wired. You have to collect a number like at the post-office and then wait. However it causes more chaos than order. 5.) Room was clean with sea view. Not the biggest but really nice and ok. But, what I was missing completely was a kettle (4*hotel should have it, it is standard). I was also missing window insect nets. A lot of mosquitoes were there and if you open a window you are immediately eaten. 6.) At this level I would expect at least 2 small complimentary bottles of water. I know that I haven' t paid for all-inclusive, but again- 4* hotel- it is a standard. 7.) Our "sea view" room was very close to the night program area, what affected the sleeping time of baby. If you prefer silent night I suggest not to add this option. 8.) Beach is super close, just across the street with 10eur for bed and umbrella. It is not under the hotel. Swimming pool was very nice, however change of beach towels is for 2eur (not complaining just FYI)

This is one of the nicest AI hotels we’ve ever stayed in. It’s in the quietest area of Torremolinos, a 10 minute drive from the airport with a minimart around the corner if you need to pick up essentials. The hotel is absolutely spotless with the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. The all inclusive buffet is pretty good and the drinks menu is comprehensive. You could spend your entire holiday there without once leaving the premises. There’s direct access onto the seafront if you want to venture out for a stroll. The rooms are compact, but have everything you need from quality air-conditioning to a decent hairdryer in the bathroom. Housekeeping are very friendly and really efficient. There is evening entertainment with the kids disco at 9 pm and family friend entertainment from 10 pm. Each session lasts an hour and the bar closes at midnight. One of the best things about this Hotel is the wristband which includes your room key - it’s always on your wrist so you’ll never lose access to your room! All in all, a fabulous experience and we’d be happy to return

Serious Concerns: - Maid entered room even with "do not disturb" sign displayed - a couple small things went missing, but nothing major. The maid did mix our dirty clothes with clean clothes, mixed my significant other's clothes with mine, and went into her personal bag that had some medication and moved things. The front desk then lied about this saying no one entered even though our beds were made, clothes folded, etc. - AC or other person according to maintenance/security produced very strong cigarette odor on our last day while we were on a day trip to Malaga. Returned to find all of our clothes smelled like cigarettes. Woke up the next morning stuffy (likely due to second hand smoke because the smell was in the hallway of the same floor of the room we were moved to).Walked past the room the next morning and it still smelled like cigarettes (maid was scrubbing down the walls of both that room and the one beside it). - Had to fight with the front desk over the problems and they wouldn't provide a written statement validating the issues. They also made excuses (suggesting it was a kid who may have thrown the do not disturb sign under our door in the maid situation above. They have a camera in the hallway and wouldn't provide a status update for us) - Had to file a formal complaint on my final night when I should have been resting for a flight the next day (they refused my request to have security come to our room and validate the smoke smell... Limited and can't write more

This is my fourth stay at this complex, which says it all. Each time it excels in every way starting with a warm welcome, beautiful clean tidy and spacious room, great food, a swimming pool to die for (all quite shallow and child friendly) along with another pool, good entertainment both for kids and adults. The staff spoke many languages and were really friendly. Location is right on the beach with lovely walks along the promenade. We took the train from Malaga airport for €2 each, 2 stops and a 7 minute walk and you are there. If only they could guarantee the weather! Will definitely be back.

room was not clean on arrival ...litter in bins and fridge room was a bit dated/worn however . staff were great and food at breakfast was excellent 👍

The hotel was a lot bigger than we expected. Breakfast was very busy whatever time we went. The food was very nice but the coffee from a machine is awful. Even the waiter agreed with us! Not very keen on birds flying round the dining room and cats around the outside tables. The room was very nice and cleaned well. It’s quite a walk into Torremolinos along the seafront but easily reached by train

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were amazing especially at reception (Sara could not have been more helpful). Real 5 star staff throughout the hotel. Couldn’t say enough about all the staff, would go back for the staff from house keeping to front of house to restaurant- incredibly friendly and helpful.

Not exactly as advertised . This hotel is very remote . A good twenty minutes walk before getting close to the centre of Torremolinos. Close to airport and train station. Rooms are well used but a great pool.

Staff couldn’t be more helpful including the entertainment team. Right on the beach but away from the hustle and bustle, if you’re a keen walker you can walk for miles along the beach Room was spotless cleaners do a fantastic job As inclusive food was varied something for everyone always hot We came at the start of season as half term hot queues for the restaurant were long, will definitely take this into consideration next time as we will be back

The breakfast was fresh delicious and the variety was amazing a truly wonderful breakfast. The staff were fabulous and attentive

A really nice week all inclusive. The food was excellent, probably the best quality and selection of any all inclusive I've experienced previously. Nice quiet location.
