What Guests Say About Their Stay

I was in Vanuatu on a work mission, so my reading of the place is different from that of someone traveling purely for leisure. The hotel delivers on being clean, with a view of the lagoon. While Vanuatu still requires significant work in public services, sidewalks, drainage, and so on, none of that is felt inside the hotel. It is a small paradise. I do think there is some evidence of depreciation, but given the context, it is very acceptable: some limescale in the bathrooms, and a few bathroom fixtures, such as the soap dish, were partly broken. However, everything was functional. What will stay with me is the magnificent attention from the staff, especially at the restaurant, always smiling and very attentive. I think I will remember opening the doors toward the lagoon, setting up my table, and working with good air conditioning and a sensational view. Finally, while the restaurant is not Michelin-starred, it delivers, and delivers very well. The food is tasty, creative, and fresh. I left satisfied.

Quiet place, no need for a private pool! Even my bungalow next to the road (#20) was peaceful, and all three small resort pools were empty, cool, and surrounded by plants. Staff is available and not overly-solicitous. Feasible walk to large grocery store in town. Loved their attention to eco-friendly measures where possible. Not flood-lit at night, so you can see the stars & the moonlight shimmering in the lagoon. Walk up to their sister resort, undergoing renovations, to use the glorious infinity pool there. No-fuss transfer to & from the airport, charged to room & paid before checkout by credit card. Welcome to stay on premises by the pool or in the restaurant ahead of flight. WiFi was particular to your room and choppy as you moved around the grounds, but usable with a bit of patience. Would return & happily bring friends!

My partner & I enjoyed our private pool & Villa. It was clean & well presented, the staff were quick & attentive during our stay there too, must say the mangos resort app is a great tool as we could order room service, check our drivers and other facilities on that app.

Let’s start with the not so good Nobody on reception when we arrived at 2:45pm, took 40 minutes to check in when he should have taken 5 minutes No microwave as advertised in Expedia Shower head needed cleaning, tap sink nearby falling off, waste must be blocked as water took ages to clear Kitchen sink not cleaned very well View say Lagoon View, not from unit 25 only a small view of the lagoon, bring chainsaw if you want more of a view. Pool has a number of missing tiles and the woodwork on the dividing wall is falling apart Maintenance doesn’t appear to be top of the list at mangoes However ignore all the above and it was a pleasant stay Breakfast was good Staff were all wonderful Rooms are ok and it’s nice and quiet all expect the rooster down the road It’s a good walk into town, it was better to walk through hospital and not take on the very steep hill to follow staffs directions to town Shops are close by if you walk through the hospital grounds Buses come past all day and cheap enough to get into town Pools in the resort looked nice and clean, but also have missing tiles Aircon was cold, fans worked ok, but do need changing as speeds vary Fridge is a nice size to get your Tusker beer in!! Overall it was an okay stay, certainly a max 3 stars no where near 4 star accommodation. I would stay again but would not pay for a room with a private pool as the resort was very quiet and we could of had 4 private pools all to ourselves.

This was my second trip to Mangos, The staff are lovely, It's a nice place to stay but I forgot how expensive this place was. All alcohol and food is extremely overpriced. We stayed over the easter holidays this year, unfortunately they placed our unit right next to the construction that was happing with constant drilling, grinding and dust coming through the resort from 7am. I did have a talk with management regarding this, i njust thought it was inconsiderate to their guests to allow construction to happen over the easter holidays. heavy price on food and alcohol, I will not be back again.

The room was spacious and the gardens were lovely but the resort was in need of some significant maintenance (eg the pool was missing half the capping stones around the rim, one of the pools was green/milky and needed cleaning). I have stayed at other resorts in Efate and the service was much better too.
