This hotel is a lovely old building set in very pleasant grounds. We visited to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday and were given a complimentary upgrade to a four poster room. It was spacious and nicely decorated in a traditional way which suited the property. We didn't use the spa facilities, but the swimming pool and jacuzzi were nice. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of options, generous portions and all nicely cooked. They did run out of wholemeal bread which was a bit disappointing. We ate in the restaurant on our second night and enjoyed our meal although we felt it was a little expensive for basic Italian food. All the staff we came across were polite and helpful. A very enjoyable couple of nights

This is an excellent hotel that combines the quality of a luxury stay with the warmth of a welcoming home. The staff were friendly, professional, accommodating, and trustworthy throughout our visit. The spa was immaculate and featured excellent facilities, providing a truly relaxing experience. The underrated grounds were an unexpected highlight, with beautiful pieces of art thoughtfully dotted around the perimeter of the property. We dined in the Italian restaurant, which was superb. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel for couples and families alike who are looking to discover one of the island's hidden gems.

Really nice facilities and lovely location. You can use the spa facilities before the check in time so it's worth going earlier than the 3pm check in time

A beautiful building in lovely grounds but that’s the good points. Desperately in need of decorating and modernisation last return was 1996 30 years ago and it shows. Not enough staff and the ones there told us that. I needed to speak to reception one evening they finish at 8pm and there’s a mobile phone number to ring and it says if no answer send a text I did this and three days later still no reply. Bedrooms get a quick clean in between guests but no furniture moved and large amounts of dust under tables etc. Dead bird on patio and been there several days at least. The same glasses and cups left on outside tables for at least the three days we were there. Food in restaurant was reasonably good and sensibly priced and the real star member of staff was Ali. My wife went to use the hairdryer in the room it was all broken and wires hanging out. No soap or shampoo in shower dispensers in room. No coffee, milk or water replenished in room despite asking. On check out this morning poor attitude no customer service just give us the key and goodbye. Such a shame it’s like this as the building as so much going for it but it needs a lot of money invested. Would not recommend it sorry until it’s had some money spent on it.

This is a fantastic hall and spa in Anglesey, with very helpful and friendly staff. The spa was wonderful with a great pool. Great grounds. Italian food tasty, big portions, but may be a slightly larger selection of wines? Breakfast was very filling and tasty. Will be going back

It’s a beautiful building in very pretty grounds. It’s a bit faded and needs a revamp as it has amazing potential. The bathroom was clean but the shower curtain was grubby. It was brown at the bottom. The room was clean but needs more lighting and the curtains were hard to open and close. The old mirror was very mottled and hard to use. Breakfast was ok and staff were friendly. No hash browns available. When breakfast arrived they were just absent! ‘We don’t have any’. At check out - service was fine but no ‘how was your stay’ I didn’t feel that the staff have much invested love for the hotel to be honest. I would spend some time reviewing the quality of the decor as it could be an amazing place 🙏

This was a hard review to write. We really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the building is in disrepair. They were short staffed our entire stay, had no reasonable accommodations for early morning wake ups, their 'outdoor trail' was not maintained, the facilities were either closed or again in disrepair. Every step in the hall or on a stair was creaky and bouncy, the wall paper was peeling, they changed out the plumbing fixtures but didn't repair the old holes, etc. Overall, this place gave an aura of previous grandeur that had been neglected. Breakfast was meh.

This hotel was probably state of the art 35/40 yrs ago. It’s very well photographed but in honesty… it’s awful. Rooms are worn out, carpets in places are threadbare. Bathroom had various it’s broken or loose. In the evenings was a constant smell of over cooked vegetables that was very unpleasant. Having spoken to locals it’s recently been taken over but it’s in need of HUGE investment I (and neither will my colleagues) definitely won’t be staying there again.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Garden - very pretty Plenty parking spaces. Breakfast - nice big Welsh breakfast. Spa not used. Room - Clean but small, health & safety issue with the bathroom sensor light due to light keep switching off when you are in the bathroom making it so dark. My husband was having a shower and he almost fall in the bathtub when the bathroom suddenly got really dark... No restaurants near by.

Its such a shame. A Beautiful mansion house that clearly needs some tlc and money spending on it. The building, grounds and amount of staffing needs addressing urgently! Dirty bed, bathroom & carpets are not acceptable.

Lovely relaxing spa would benefit from some relaxing piped music, room was spacious comfy big bed and quiet no noise from other residents could be heard. Evening meal "curry night" was excellent value and breakfast was cooked fresh to order would highly recommend.

Stayed here for a treat for our 20th wedding anniversary. Building is very interesting and the stay was great. Food in the restaurant was good (but be warned - the chef obviously likes his chillies judging by my Arrabiata and my wife's King Prawns!) The pool/spa was great - everything you would want and very clean. Would recommend for a relaxing break - go on treat yourself or someone you love.
