10/10 would stay here again!

Bit of a mixed experience with this hotel. Generally decent public spaces and our room was spacious and modern. The spa facilities are underwhelming, and the changing rooms could definitely use a refit. It was difficult to find a locker that locked! Just feels a bit tired overall. We visited over the May bank holiday to go to the Cheltenham cheese roll event. One would assume the hotel would have predicted that this would be a busy time and staff accordingly. Alas, it was not the case. The queue in the bar for a drink was ridiculous for the two poor bar staff on duty, and we had the same experience in the restaurant. The first night there was a sign to say no hot food was available, and the second night which we had booked an early seating at 6pm, we sat till 7pm waiting for food. At which point I told the waiter not to bring it if it didn't come out in the next few minutes. It was duly served, and the burger which I figured would be really difficult to mess up was practically inedible. My wifes meal although not bad was just unseasoned and bland. An extremely disappointing experience. I do want to state that our complaint is not with the staff, they were running ragged the whole time, and the same is true of the all the staff we dealt with, but the hotel management or whoever runs Q hotels needs to take a look at staffing levels at busy times. I am aware that maybe on a normal weekend things may have been better, and others may have better experiences.

good location and easy to find. Pool was good size and the steam and sauna empty when we were there .clean changing rooms with code lockers so no need for money. breakfast had plenty of choices.

We chose this hotel because the May bank holiday was forecast to be very hot and we specifically wanted somewhere with an outdoor pool. Expedia advertised this hotel as having one, so we booked and drove over 3 hours — only to find out the hotel doesn’t actually have an outdoor pool. Extremely disappointing. Things got worse when we discovered the AC in our room wasn’t working in 30-degree heat. A helpful receptionist with long black hair quickly fixed it and explained that whenever the key card is removed, the AC switches off and can only be reset by reception. The next day, after returning from Cheltenham at 2pm, we asked reception to reset the AC again. The short-haired receptionist rudely told us to wait behind a queue of check-ins, despite the reset taking only seconds. An hour later my wife was told it would be sorted, but 3 hours later the AC was still off. I had to go down again and insist it was reset, only to be snapped at that she was busy and working alone. Even another guest commented on how rude this was. Regardless of staffing issues, paying guests should not wait 3 hours for a simple fix or be spoken to so dismissively. I raised the issues with Adrian at checkout, but although polite, he showed little interest in resolving the complaint. Overall, a very disappointing stay with misleading advertising and poor customer service.

Restaurant closed very early. Massage in Spa was particularly bad.

Clean room, comfortable bed, good shower, helpful and friendly staff. The only let-down was the very bland-tasting cooked breakfast.

Comfy beds. Easy to get to. Toby Carvery next door.

Room 135, paid £157, Extremely Noisy all night, terrible nights sleep, tired room and not very clean. Was asked if i wanted to relocate at 22:15, totally unacceptable!

This is an excellent hotel. Have stayed here before and will definitely be back. Staff are absolutely amazing, especially Jack and Maria at breakfast. Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of hot food. The rooms are large, the beds very comfortable and the rooms have everything you need including a fridge. Complimentary water and I especially loved getting biscuits with the in-room tea and coffee. The gym at the hotel is also excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice room, extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet had a really good range of options and meals in the bar were convenient and tasty.

Beautiful venue and rooms were lovely, unfortunately the bed wasn’t very comfortable which was a shame, it looked like 2 divans had been put together to make a king size and there was a hard beam running down the middle of the bed. It didn’t ruin the stay it was just a bit disappointing for such a lovely place. However the cleanliness was top notch and I felt happy overall.
