The Josho-ji Temple in the Kyoto region is a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect of the Tenryuji school, founded by Emperor Go-Gen in 1362. Built with the surrounding natural scenery in mind, the temple allows visitors to enjoy a relaxing half-day in this area of Kyoto, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
