- Spot Introduction -
・Bulguksa Temple
Bulguksa Temple is registered as a World Heritage Site. When talking about Gyeongju, Bulguksa Temple is known as an indispensable tourist destination. Bulguksa Temple is still a large-scale temple today, but it is said that in its heyday in the 8th century, it boasted a magnificent scale with over 60 wooden buildings with a total of 2,000 rooms.
・Seokguram Grotto
Further up the mountain from Bulguksa Temple is Seokguram Grotto, a cultural asset. It is said to be a representative work of Korean Buddhist art, and was registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO together with Bulguksa Temple in 1995. The Buddha statues are magnificent, but the view of Gyeongju from Seokguram Grotto is also spectacular.
・Busan Tower (Yongdusan Park)
Located in the center of Busan, this park is the symbol of the city and occupies the entire hill at an altitude of 180m. In the center of the park stands the 120m-tall Busan Tower. From the observation deck of the tower, you can see the Busan Port, the surrounding downtown area, and even the islands, and on a clear day you can see Tsushima across the sea. The night view from dusk to night is particularly spectacular.
Jakarti Market One of the attractions of this market is being able to taste the fresh seafood that has just been landed at Busan Port. You can have the fish swimming in the tanks in front of the stores filleted and eaten as sashimi. After checking out the lively fish being sold by the row of street vendors, you can also try tasting the sashimi of the seafood you have chosen. The second floor of the Jakarti Market building, which was recently renovated and reopened, is a market specializing in dried goods, with light and compact seaweed and dried fish making ideal souvenirs.
