Keelung Island, also known as the "Dragon Ball of Taiwan", stands in the northeastern waters of Keelung. It is the most distinctive island landmark in northern Taiwan and a landmark for ships from various countries sailing in and out of Keelung Port. It accompanies Keelung day and night, and its beautiful parabolic shape makes it one of the eight scenic spots in Keelung. This tour provides four ways to appreciate Keelung Island. You can go around Keelung Island once and have a 360-degree view of the magnificent Keelung Island. You can climb the island to appreciate the precious igneous geological landscape and its wonderful native plants. You can walk up to the lighthouse of Keelung Island and overlook the entire ocean. At the end of the tour, the captain will take you to enjoy the view of Elephant Trunk Rock from the sea. Due to its rainy environment and rock weathering, the island has rich vegetation, with many banyan trees, and a large number of wild lilies, golden amaryllis, slate vegetables, privet, sunflower, pinus, hibiscus, etc. May and June are the lily season; August to September is the amaryllis season. In addition to the precious volcanic terrain, the island also has a unique volcanic crab (turtle crab), and sometimes birds such as hoopoes, white-crowned sparrows and swifts can be observed.
