This is a cafe that we said was housed in the midst of natural scenery. Closed only on Tuesdays, this cafe is open on the other days from 12pm-11pm. You can find this charming cafe in Jalan Samanea Saman, serving mostly western dishes with some fusion items. French toasts, any kinds of cakes, caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages can be ordered here, with a price range starting from RM 12. DoubleTap Cafe is in a bungalow sized lot consisting of many regular tables, chairs, and sofas. However, seats by the windows heading to Taiping Lake Gardens are the most-demanded. This cafe also has outdoor seating with a canopy, so rain won’t bother your time soaking in the ambience.

La Promise Bakery and Cafe is a bakery, cafe, and restaurant serving various menus, including whole cakes, box cakes, tarts, sliced cakes, pizzas, spaghetti bolognese, chicken black pepper, and many kinds of drinks. Located in Jalan Istana Larut, this cafe is only open 4 days a week: Monday to Thursday from 12pm-10pm. The price varies from RM 4.75 for appetizers, RM 16.85 for the main courses, and RM 0.90 for the beverages.

If you look for a modern cafe in Taiping, Rainy Corner may be the answer. This moderately-sized cafe doesn’t have many customers, but you can feel the cafe’s vibrancy from many plants, large wall murals, and custom paintings filling its interior. STG (Sabah Tea Garden) Taiping is one of the famous restaurants in town, serving European-Asian dishes, wines, teas, coffees, and desserts. This restaurant is also a muslim-friendly because the food is pork-free. Located in the heart of Taiping town, specifically in Jalan Wayang Gambar, Mansion 5’s specialty dishes are fried rice with Asian black pepper and seafood pasta. They also serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, so this restaurant is a suitable place for any occasion. Ranging from RM 11-20, all of the dishes along with the live music performance on Saturday night and dart machines for entertainment will be worth every penny.
