Jeju 3D2N Trip

DAY 1

1. Arrival Process at the Airport

The first day you leave for a trip to Jeju, you need to prepare some documents, visas, and passports. After that, you need to head to Kuala Lumpur International Airport to depart directly for Jeju Island.

This trip will take about 14 hours and 5 minutes with 2 stops and transfers, namely at Incheon International Airport in Seoul and then heading to Gimpo Airport. From Gimpo airport, you can go directly to Jeju International Airport at a distance of 1 hour and 10 minutes.

For airlines, you will depart using South Korea's Korean Air with various flight facilities such as in-flight meals, entertainment, and a power or USB port. From the airport, you can use public transportation such as buses, or taxis, or rent a car that you can use for 3 days and 2 nights – if you travel in a group.

2. Restaurant Recommendations

After arriving, local and foreign tourists usually recommend some popular restaurants that must be tried. You certainly want to taste Jeju Island's specialties right away, right? Well, from the airport you can go directly to some of these most recommended restaurants.

Jamae Guksu

The first restaurant was Jamae Guksu. This is a restaurant that serves meat dishes with gravy. The restaurant is located at Tapdong-Ro 11-Gil, Jeju Island. Some of the most popular menus are Gogi Guksu or noodle dishes with pork and Bibim Guksu or noodles with vegetables mixed using hot sauce.

The price per serving is about 8,500 KRW or equal to 29 RM. The restaurant is open daily – but closed on Wednesdays – from 9:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. in the first phase and then from 4:00 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. in the second phase local time.

Ollae Guksu

The second restaurant recommendation for 3D2N to Jeju Island is Ollae Guksu. Ollae Guksu is a local restaurant that serves noodle dishes with pork. This restaurant is increasingly crowded with locals and foreign tourists after appearing on local South Korean TV shows. For one serving of noodles, the price is around 8,500 KRW or about 29 RM.

This restaurant is located in two locations, namely in Yeondong - Jeju-si which is about 8 minutes from Jeju international airport, and Seogwi-dong which is located close to the Jeongbang waterfall tourist destination.

Meanwhile, the restaurant is open every Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time. However, this restaurant does not operate on Sundays, Seollal holidays, and Chuseok Holidays.

Chunshimin

After leaving the restaurant, you must also try the menu from Chunshimin restaurant before returning to Malaysia. According to local residents, Chinshimin is a restaurant that serves Jeju island's specialties, namely whole grilled cut fish. In addition, this restaurant has apparently appeared in various local South Korean TV shows.

A serving of grilled whole cutlassfish costs 78,000 KRW or around 265 RM – this menú can be eaten by two people. Meanwhile, a roasted whole cutlassfish menú for 4 people costs around 138,000 KRW or about 469 RM. Another menú that is also available is boiled boneless squid for 65,000 KRW or about 221 RM per serving.

The location of this restaurant is at 16 Changcheon Jungang-Ro 24beon-Gil Andeok-myeon, Seogwi-Po, Jeju-do. The restaurant is open daily in two phases, in the first phase from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the second phase from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.

Don Sa Don

Locals also highly recommend the Don Sa Don restaurant. For those of you who want to taste Korean BBQ, then this restaurant is the answer. The meat served is Jeju's signature black pork – a traditional South Korean breed from Jeju Island.

This meat is one of the dishes that give a unique taste to the tongue. For the presentation, the meat will be grilled directly using Yeontan – a perforated charcoal briquette – cooked using BBQ seasoning. After that, before eating – the meat will be dipped in Jeotgal or salted seafood.

One serving of meat can be eaten by two people with a price range of 66,000 KRW or the equivalent of 224 RM. The restaurant's operating hours are every Monday, Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm. The restaurant is not open on Tuesdays.

The location of the restaurant is at four points, namely in Nohyung-dong – a location close to Jeju international airport, Handong-Ri Gujwa-Eup, Cheonjeyeon-Ro Seogwipo-Si, and Leodo-Ro Swegwipo-Si.

Woojin Haejangguk

Another restaurant recommendation is Woojin Haejangguk. This restaurant serves soup which is usually referred to as 'drunken soup' or hangover soup. The most popular menú in this restaurant are Yokgaejang and Mom-Ruk.

The restaurant is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. The price per serving is 9,000 KRW or 30.52 RM. For the address, this restaurant is at 11 Seosa-Ro Jeju Island. In addition, other menus provided by the restaurant are Sagol Haejangguk for 9,000 KRW and Nokdu Bandae-tteok for 15,000 KRW or 51 RM.

2. Returns to Malaysia

Next up is the trip from Jeju to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The fastest flight hours are about 10 hours and 50 minutes with 2 stops i.e. at Gimpo Airport and Incheon International Airport South Korea.
