Although travel restrictions are easing down in the wake of 2022, we’ve highlighted some of the important requirements still in place for you.

All travellers are eligible to be exempted from all testing requirements, regardless of vaccination status.

All incoming travellers are exempted from having to serve any quarantine period upon arrival in the United Kingdom (yay!)

How to Get to the United Kingdom?

The main airport that connects travellers from Malaysia to central London is the London Heathrow Airport. It is the biggest airport in Europe with five terminals where you should check which terminal your flight departs or arrives at.

Other than that, some other international airports include Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, London City, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle, and London Gatwick.

Heathrow and Gatwick's terminal is connected by free shuttle services, where the travelling period is around one hour and 15 minutes.

Top Airlines Operating to the United Kingdom

Some of the airlines that you can choose to fly to the UK are Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Oman Air, Air France, Qatar Airways, Emirates, British Airways, Etihad, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Sri Lankan Airlines and Swiss International Airlines.

If you book early, the approximate price per trip will be around RM 1,100 to RM 25,000 depending on the baggage load and other facilities provided on the flight. For example, Malaysia Airlines' direct trip costs around RM 1,600 with 7 kg cabin baggage.

The trip takes around 14 hours 20 minutes for it to reach Heathrow Airport. However, the ticket with two stops cost RM 12,500 per ticket, but the baggage load is 35 kg, cabin baggage is 7 kg.

Total travel time from Kuala Lumpur and the transits to Heathrow will take around 40 hours and 10 minutes. The transits will be in Abu Dhabi and Sri Lanka.

For Malindo Air, the cost per trip would be around RM 1,900, which has two transits in Jakarta, Indonesia and Istanbul, Turkey.

The trip will take up around 30 to 45 hours where free meals, in-flight entertainment, power and USB ports are provided.

Tower of London

The Tower of London can be called one of the most famous attractions in the United Kingdom. This prominent fortress has served itself as a palace, royal mint, prison, and zoo.

You need to pre-book your tickets. You can buy your tickets online via www.hrp.org.uk.
For adults, the tickets cost around £29.90, and for children, the entrance fee would be £14.90 per person. For a child under five years old, no fee is implemented.
If you visit the Tower of London with your family, you might want to check the family package that ranges from £52 to £82 depending on the number of adults tagging along.

The Shetland Islands

The museum is generally free, but for specific exhibitions or events that require you to purchase a ticket, it is recommended to purchase in advance.
