Chef Wan made his way into Malaysian hearts and homes with his passion for food and his colourful personality.

Over the last 20 years, he has published dozens of cookbooks, hosted cooking shows in Malaysia and over the world, in addition to having appeared in noteworthy foodie programmes like Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and Rick Stein’s Far Eastern Odyssey. During the span of Chef Wan’s illustrious career, he has cooked for many famous personalities; the most noteworthy of the long list being the Sultan of Brunei and the former U.S. President, Bill Clinton.

The celebrated chef spends a substantial amount of time traveling to different parts of the world and on his travels, he has sampled Asian cuisine from secluded nooks and crannies to the busiest city restaurants over the years. The culmination of these experiences is what inspires Chef Wan to introduce unique twists to each and every meal he concocts. He is famed for creating mouth-watering Malaysian and other signature Southeast Asian delights using ingredients that are found locally which give these otherwise traditional dishes a signature flavour, breathing new life into a dish as it were.
