If you're visiting Singapore on a budget, don't worry! You can do plenty of things around the city that won't cost you a dime. From exploring the Botanic Gardens to marveling at light shows and catching movies outside, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself without spending any money. So here's the list of ten things that will let you have fun in Singapore without breaking your bank account:
The Botanic Gardens are a great place to explore and learn about Singapore's biodiversity. The gardens are open from 5am to 12pm, so you can enjoy them any time of day. This 163-year-old tropical garden is home to the most spectacular tropical floral set in a stunning landscape view.
It cost nothing to explore the Botanic Gardens. Be it with a date, a friend, or a family, this place is perfect to unwind, especially when you are on a budget.
The National Gallery houses Singapore's largest collection of modern and contemporary art, with a large number of works by Singapore artists. It is also home to Singapore's only public sculpture park, which features sculptures from renowned local and international artists. The gallery also hosts exhibitions and events throughout the year, so there's always something new to see at this must-visit attraction for art lovers in Singapore.
The museum is located on the first floor of the National Museum Building (formerly known as the Old Supreme Court Building), which was designed by famed architect George Drumgoole Coleman in 1861 and served as the Supreme Court until 1991—the building also houses other museums including Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum today.
If you're looking for something fun to do during your visit to this historic site, head on over to Tanjong Pagar Railway Station just across the road from The Arts House (where you'll find more free galleries) where you can check out trains that were once used here before they were taken out of service in 2011 due to low ridership numbers!
Light shows are an incredible way to experience Singapore’s famous skyline. You can view these light shows at Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, and the Esplanade.
Gardens by the Bay is home to several light installations that play on its flora and fauna. The Flower Dome was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, with its dome-shaped walls made up of tens of thousands of glass panels that allow natural sunlight in while also being able to create different kinds of lighting effects depending on the time and day. A few examples include a waterfall effect during daylight hours; thunderstorm lighting at night; and a silent disco in sync with music from DJs who stand on top of glass pyramids throughout the dome (which you can access for free!).
Marina Bay Sands also has their own version called “Laser Lights” which takes place every Friday from 8pm until 1am at both their towers (the hotel tower and casino). Guests can get free tickets from Marina Bay Sands if they reserve beforehand via email or phone call (or simply show up earlier than 730pm). If you're looking for something more intimate than Laser Lights but still want spectacular views of Singapore's cityscape without having reservations needed beforehand then head over here instead!
Attending a museum open house is one of the best ways to experience Singapore’s history, culture and art for free. Many museums in Singapore offer free admission on certain days throughout the year with no registration required.
You can visit more than one museum on the same day by registering with each one separately. Some museums will require you to bring your passport in order to register.

There are two ways to get to Changi: by bus or train. The bus takes about an hour, while the train takes around 20 minutes (depending on where you're coming from). If you want to go by public transportation, make sure you check out the MRT map at the airport so you don't end up going in the wrong direction on your way back.
The best time for planespotting is just after sunset, when aircrafts begin their descent into Singapore's Changi Airport. You'll be able to see all kinds of planes land—from large commercial jets carrying hundreds of passengers down to tiny private jets carrying just a few people—and take off! Here's what else we suggest bringing:
With its stunning architecture and vast open spaces, the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre is one of the most popular venues in Singapore. The entertainment venue hosts free performances all year round, with a full schedule of events ranging from music concerts to dance performances.
The Esplanade Concourse is another stunning venue that offers free performances on select days throughout the year. You can enjoy these performances while eating your own food and drinks. Be aware that tickets are required for most events at this location (and they’re limited), so check out their website before planning your visit here!
The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Singapore. It's the second-largest nature reserve in the country, with an area of about 2,500 hectares (6,178 acres) and a perimeter of 32 kilometers (20 miles).
