The excellent news is that Cebu is definitely open to all travellers, but the sort of good news is that you still need to fulfil specific requirements before you can ride off in the sunset.

Flying from Kuala Lumpur to Cebu will take around eight to 11 hours because you will need to get transit flights, so it depends if you take a flight with one or two stops.
The ticket price for the flights will differ depending on the airlines, but the average will take between MYR 600+ to MYR 1,000+ per pax for a one-way ticket.

You need to bear in mind when the monsoon season hits Cebu because if you fail to plan appropriately, you will not be happy in the end.
The monsoon season in Cebu falls around June to August, so this is a no-no period to fly there.
From March to May, you can go to Cebu. However, the weather is going to be hot and humid, so this makes for an uncomfortable journey when you want to explore the outdoors. Unless you enjoy that kind of weather, this period is good for you.

The most ideal period tourist will generally visit Cebu City is from January to February. It is perfect for outdoor and indoor activities. Plus, the beaches like Bantayan, Camotes, Mactan and Malapascua will be crystal clear.
The weather will be nice and relaxed with some rain, but not borderline into storms, so don’t worry.
The Basilica Menor dela Santo Niño de Cebú (Minor Basilica of the Holy Child of Cebú) or commonly know as Santo Niño Basilica is a historical basilica founded by Fray Andrés de Urdaneta and Fray Diego de Herrera in 1565.
Now, this exquisite basilica holds some of the best relics and antics displayed in the Niño Museum and publishings dating back to the 17th century in their church library.

Need-to-know:
From the great basilica, you can explore the Magellan’s Cross Pavilion, just within walking distance.
This historical pavilion house the most important history of Christianity in the Philippines.
You will find a cross decorated with murals on the walls that etched the beginning of Christianity in Cebu City in the pavilion. It is indeed a magnificent trip back in time to witness this.

Need-to-know:
Another historical you shouldn’t miss visiting is the Cebu Taoist Temple.
The history behind this temple is fascinating; history archives have it that this temple was built to preserve the teachings of Taoism and soon became the primary location to practice Taoism.
The temple also includes other areas such as a library, a wishing well, a chapel and a souvenir shop for tourist memorabilia.
