Malaysia Advises Holding Off on Trips to India & Pakistan

On 7 May 2025, the Malaysian High Commissions in New Delhi and Islamabad issued an official advisory, asking Malaysians to postpone any non-essential travel to India and Pakistan.

The advisory comes in light of rising regional tensions that have recently drawn international attention. In a statement, the Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad said, "Due to the volatile situation, Malaysian citizens are advised to defer unnecessary travels to Pakistan."

The High Commission noted that it is working closely with local authorities to gather more information and to ensure the well-being of Malaysians currently in the country. Malaysians in affected areas were also encouraged to remain alert and to stay informed by following the latest guidance from local officials.

So if you don’t have a super urgent reason to be there (like official duties, emergencies, or essential family matters), it’s best to put those plans on hold until things calm down.
