My Blue Hotel

Great stay! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept and the pools are sparkling. Highly recommend staying at My Blue Hotel!

The location and price are amazing. The food can be better. The hotel is more beautiful than the pictures. If a little renovations/upgrading of the rooms are done will match the 5 star resorts. Staff is incredible. Over roll, I will recommend this hotel for anyone.

Nice hotel right on the beach

The first room we got, when we opened the door, there was a cat inside staring at us, then we were moved to the second room, where we could not sleep ALL NIGHT because there were termites chewing those woods inside the room and the chewing noise was so loud that we could not sleep! We even recorded it just make the front desk people listen, and they were astonished! Then we were moved again to a third room. This was a really painful hotel stay!!

Very good hotel, close to everything you need. Very good structure in front of the beach.

My stay was truly amazing, great food, drinks, activities and friendly staff and management.

Pleasant 5 nights stay. The two housekeeping ladies are genuine with big smiles. Dinner options are satisfactory (considering the standard in Africa). Rooms are old but with this price point it is fair. The rest of the hotel including swimming pool and bar area are pretty.

La struttura esternamente è tenuta molto bene. Le camere sono spaziose, seppur arredate economicamente, pulite e il bagno con doccia e asciugamani cambiati giornalmente. La spiaggia privata di sabbia bianca è in ottima posizione per godersi il tramonto. Sdraio moderne e nuove. La cucina un pò ripetitiva e l'angolo pasta da migliorare. La serata con cena in spiaggia e musica é stata bellissima. Il frigobar sempre rifornito con acqua e bibite. Non mi è piaciuto non avere una bottiglia d'acqua a tavola ma dover sempre chiedere ai camerieri che riempivano il bicchiere. Il mio giudizio, comunque, a parte qualche pecca è molto positivo

The stay was amazing and the location is fantastic. Also the restaurant at the hotel is with awesome view.

Spent 5 nights it was an amazing experience and staff are very friendly, the location is great, I had full board booking with 3 meals a day the food was average you might find something suits you from the buffet

Stunning grounds, large, comfortable rooms, great location. I was thrilled to arrive. But the staff need better training. 2 issues—1 minor and common, 1 major and shocking—spoiled my stay. Minor—the breakfast area staff are TOO aggressive about taking away plates. Every 3 minutes someone tried to take my half-finished plate and coffee. Let a man enjoy his breakfast in peace without being rushed! Major—checkout was AWFUL! 5 staff behind the desk, only me and 1 other couple in front of the desk, but it took nearly 30 minutes. When I presented my door bracelet, and said "checking out," the staff looked at me blankly. I was ignored for 10 minutes. They finally got around to it, another 10 minutes later they came with a US$2 bill for tourist tax. (I paid $180 for the night, but OK...I gave 5,000 shillings) "Are we done?" "we check the room now." "Just now?!!" 20 minutes into it, I tried to leave (had a boat trip departure for my 50th birthday that was NOT flexible due to the tides). They LITERALLY held me captive. The security guard seized my bag from me and protected the gate, crying that he would be fired if he let me out. Shocking! I said: "look if you want anything at all from me, simply ask for it and I will gladly give whatever it is, but I MUST leave NOW" but they wouldn't budge until I made an ugly scene. I arrived 15 minutes late to my destination and was lucky to board the boat. Sum: More "Pole Pole" needed in the dining area, and far LESS needed at checkout.

Overall the hotel property was nice. The included meals were good and buffet style. The Friday night dinner on the beach was great. A small point for some perhaps is that the pillows were small and a bit lumpy. The beach was fantastic apart from the annoying touts or "beach boys as they call them who harass you endlessly to buy things and tours. They hang out right in front of the hotel property, and spoiled every visit to the beach as they follow you even after you tell them you're not interested. If the hotel can't move these people on it would be great if the authorities would do something about it. Either move them away, or allow them to set up a tour stand with the proviso they don't harrass visitors.

We had no hot water for 4 days of staying, we offerd no compansation from mannegement and the one thing that they could tell us about it is "welcome to Zanzibar". The room was old and smelly. We paid around 200 U.S dollers for this lowsy treatmant and old room and facilities. We were at our Honeymoon and we got no champaine or any notification of it and the Hotel just ruined our Zanzibar vacation. The worst value for money. The same food in every meal. I wouldn't seggest my enemys to go there

This is a nice and comfortable hotel. Location is great, food is amazing and in general, staff is very pleasant. The only bad experience was at the reception upon our arrival. They were rude and kind of nasty. At one point, I called them because I wasn't satisfy with the room I got (I have asked for two beds and got only 1), and the lady was even screaming to the man on the phone, obviously mad at me. Even at the check out they were rude! Finally, if you drink, stick to beers and wine as the cocktails is nothing but juice!

Mattress was not good, it was too soft. Could not sleep whole night. Please ask the hotel to change the mattress.

Amazing spot to relax! Staff very friendly. Hotel very Good In general but the room was 'asking' for manutenaince (toilet, AC, etc) Good entertainment during a Beach dinner very well organized. A positive experience.
