This was a hi-lite in our trip as the "Gardeners Cottage" was cute and clean. Very interesting history and the "rose gardens" are not to be missed. Very nice. Thx.

It had everything we needed. It was an old property (c.150yrs old) so it was never going to be state-of-the-art with underfloor heating, surround-sound disco-lighting (and it would have been awful if it was like that) but it catered for us perfectly, was quiet and comfortable.

We loved the estate. It was beautiful walking through the grounds and we loved the kitchen garden and the berry cage! Very special place. I just wish there was a little more money to spend On the conservation of a world heritage site! I can’t imagine it lasting for Another 50 years with such a light touch of upkeep.

This was an experience. Having the estate to ourselves and a few other guests out of hours was lovely - wander the gardens in peace and at sunset. The coachhouse is old - of course it is - it was built in the 1800's but lovely and with character. The staircase is steep and narrow - so if you have reduced mobility then probably not the best choice. The resident rooster happily woke us around 5am! but all part of the charm. We really enjoyed the House tour also as part of our stay and of course the Rose gardens at the perfect time of year. Everything on hand that you would need.
