The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Going to sleep at the excellent refreshing and authentic jungle experience. I loved going to sleep and waking up with the sounds of the jungle right outside my door. I recommend the bird watching excursion with Paps. He's very knowledgeable and has the eyes of an eagle.

Beware that there are no cancellations. You cannot reach the hotel and the only option for dining is $47 a day according to the website. Could not confirm amenities or accommodation of diet restrictions. Had to make another booking but was still charged for this one and could not get refunded even though I tried to contact them repeatedly and expedia as well. We stayed at Creekside Oasis instead.

Cabins were great. Grounds were beautiful. Do the night hike which was our highlight And just $25 pp. Dinner and breakfast was pricier and just fair compared to our other locations we visited. Excursions were expensive. Weather wasn't great so left a day early. Takes 30 minutes on an unpaved road to get to lodge so you can't come and go to do your own thing.

It was fabulous! Nice staff, very personable. Excellent food and more of it than one needs. You are definitely out in nature. Wi/Fi is very limited. Can only get it to work in a few spots in main lodge. this is a trip to get away from the rat race & hustle bustle we live in daily. It was relaxing to say the least!!

We had an amazing time at the Cotton Tree Lodge. It is truly a one of a kind experience, a luxurious hideaway with adventures aplenty for all travelers - and the Moho River makes for a great swim (complete with a rope swing)! Iguanas, birds, howler monkeys and butterflies are easy to spot and the jungle trails a perfect for a quick walk. The lodge and grounds team were all very friendly and willing to take the time to talk about their culture, history and Belize. They made our trip exceptionally special. If you can make it, take the time to talk with Armando, he maintains the Lodge's garden where the grow much of the food you'll eat, about Mayan culture and traditional farming. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served family style and delicious every night, the Lodge team accommodates dietary restrictions and the onsite bar is an awesome pre-dinner hangout. We rented Kayaks for the day and went up river exploring our first day and second rode the Lodge's bicycles into Punta Gorda (about 13 miles). We went to the Market in Punta Gorda and stopped at the Cotton Tree Chocolate Factory (the dark cocoa with coffee nib = amazing). Honestly our stay couldn't have been better, the location is amazing, the excursions exceptional and the crew that runs the Lodge are all wonderful. I hope we can come back often, this is a perfect place for romantic getaways, family adventure or a escape with best friends.

An amazing complex in the middle of nowhere. The cabins are beautiful and the staff is as nice as can be. I would suggest you bring a vehicle, otherwise you will always be in the middle of nowhere ;-). Hot and cold running water, all the toiletries, mosquito netting, and very comfortable beds. No TV or free Wifi. Caters to a wealthier class of people than myself, but the stay was definitely a worthwhile experience.

The property is beautiful but very remote. Our Cabana on the River was awesome however....... Anyone who stays here needs to understand that there are NO other options for food or entertainment without traveling a considerable distance, 45 minute drive to Punta Gorda or 2 1/2 hours to Placencia. I wish I would have rented a car as you are 100% reliant on the Lodge for transportation and the only way to leave the property is on an excursion or try to catch a ride to Punta Gorda if they are picking up or dropping people off at the Airport. We did this to get some needed supplies from a local store. Meals are served family style or buffet and there are no menu choices. Meals were heavy on the carbs and vegetable side with TINY portions of seafood, chicken or pork. They do not have a store on site to purchase any toiletries, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, etc...BRING EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO HAVE FOR YOUR STAY. Most excursions take 1 1/2 hours to reach so two thirds of the time is spent riding in a vehicle. The Blue Creek Cave excursion was amazing, Nimli Punit/Tubing, the Sunset Cruise was ok. We got rained out on snorkeling but heard from others that went that they had fun.
