Grand Windsock Bonaire

The place was very spacious, clean, with lots of room at the pool. Loved it!

Just came back from a relaxing stay at Grand Windsock Resort. We loved our unit, and the location was great. The beach is across the street, and it had plenty of lounge chairs in the shade. The water is perfect, plenty of tropical fish to swim around with. We loved be able to cook and eat in most of our stay, but the kitchen could use some tlc. Overall, it was a beautiful place to stay and we hope to return.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with pool and loved it! Property was clean, modern and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful location and convenient. Our 3 bedroom villa was showing signs of age in terms of the outdoor furniture, the indoor sofa, and the problems with the air conditioning unit over and over again. Staff was polite but approach things as though they are on holiday as well. Weird things like no washcloths in the room, no blankets/only sheets, washing machine but no dryer, limited maid service only every 4 days, main pool has rings of green algae… seems like management has their hands full with the staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Excellent value, very clean and functional villa, I hope to visit again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a pool and it was perfect. The grounds, layout, and amenities were excellent. We will definitely be returning!

Service was not great at the hotel restaurant. On arrival staff was a bit rude. We waited around for a long time to have someone come take our food order and had to keep waving down the staff to get utensils etc. and to even pay the bill.

Bonaire We loved our 8-day vacation in Bonaire at the Grand Windsock. We stayed in a beautiful, well-equipped 2-bedroom, 2-bath villa with private pool. The villa was next to the airport so we certainly were aware of planes taking off and landing (and the occasional slight whiff of jet fuel) but there are not many flights in and out of the island each day so we had no issue with it. We actually enjoyed seeing the planes coming and going. Our villa was clean and comfortable with a lovely in-ground pool and full-sized fridge with water and ice maker being two of our favourite features. Unlike what we read on this site and heard from the Grand Windsock itself our second bedroom was unlocked - very convenient for a place to stow extra luggage and set up a place to pack when we sadly needed to return home. It seems like a small thing for the resort to leave it unlocked but we certainly appreciated it and seeing it left open on our arrival made us feel valued and welcome. Housekeeping and pool service were as promised once during our stay and left things sparkling clean. Since we had our own pool we only swam in the main pool once but it was very nice too. While staff were kind and friendly, service is “island time” so adjust your expectations here and elsewhere on the island. We walked over to the ocean club most evenings to watch the sunset and also to snorkel a few times. Loved our stay

Great location. Perfect location for anyone diving. Clean comfortable units.

The property is very well kept, clean and accessible. Rooms are very well equipped and maintained.

In our room the bathroom fan was broken. Staff agreed to have it looked at, but didn't do it. Opening the window it almost fell out because the hinge was broken. The shower had no curtain and didn't slope to the drain, so water ran out into the bathroom. The combination oven and microwave needed a 40 page manual to operate it, which was only available in dutch. The location was extremely noisy with car wash generator running nearby, mufflerless motorcycles racing on the street and jets landing. There was only one restaurant in walking distance. It was way overpriced, though the food was good. Mosquitoes were a problem from 5pm on. On the plus side the apartment rooms were large & clean and there was a large fridge, a clothes washer and large balcony with lots of outside seating. There was air-conditioning in the bedrooms. The beach was closeby with beach shoes needed on the sharp coral gravel, not all fine sand. Marine life was plentiful making snorkeling great. Entering and exiting the water to snorkel was very tricky, with pounding surf on the sharp coral beaches. The hotel had a ladder down to the water which helped getting in, but it was deceivingly slippery with algal growth. Pool towels were provided. A fee of $50 was threatened for any lost ones. We rented a pickup truck for our stay to tour the island, get to stores & restaurants. A truck was needed to go in the national park; roads-tracks there were very rough. We reserved a month ahead & almost missed out.

Suri, Kevin, and Miguel all made our time in Bonaire Enjoyable and Fun. They made sure we had anything we needed and assisted us in getting around the island.

We enjoyed our stay at Grand Windsock. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a small private pool. They had a dive shop onsite that we rented snorkel gear at, had dinner one night at their beach club. A very enjoyable stay. We didn’t realize we also could have rented a vehicle from them instead of using the rental car agency at the airport. It was very clean and quiet.

My 4 boys and I had a wonderful week. It is great having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full kitchen. The apartment was well equipped and furnished. We enjoyed the pool and beach club across the street which included comfortable lounge chairs and a nice restaurant with great pina coladas. They provided beach towels so you don’t need to pack your own. I highly recommend renting a car, because uber doesn’t exist and taxis need to be scheduled and are expensive.

The Villa was fantastic, spacious and the outdoor living areas were perfect for dining, sunbathing and relaxing.

Rent a car in advance. Reserve diving trips in advance. The hotel was excellent and will assist with everything. Wanna Dive is right on the property and will help. When they say five start Padi shop its the real deal. This is a wonderful hotel with kind and friendly staff!

Spacious vila in a quiet location. Only a few minutes drive the airport and downtown. Nice views from the beach bar.

Amazing property and the villa was spacious and well-appointed. Service was laid back but excellent. Was sad to leave. Hope to visit again soon.
