Hotel Moncloa

Great location, friendly and English speaking front desk staff. Didn’t get to experience room service as first day I’ve stayed there i slept most of the time and second day for some reason they didn’t service the room after i left to explore the city but that’s fine as i really didn’t need the housekeeping. Amenities are dated and definitely require refresh. But I’d definitely stay there again

Is an extremely old property, I woke up sweaty because the air conditioning didn't work, the internet was conspicuous by its absence, there was never any, the area where the hotel was located was not the best, the streets were dirty and there were a lot of brothels around. The breakfast was very good and the staff VERY KIND

Always greeted at arrival. Hotel itself is a little run down, but wifi was excellent this time around. Clean towels on demand.

Terrible and dirty place with bugs. Service is poor and the rooms don’t even have basic amenities. The hotel is not at all maintained. The owner of the property is very rude to the customers when asked for a service and doesn’t care about customers. Worst hotel I stayed so far! Please, avoid at any cost!

Simple and clean. Friendly staff. Located in the busy street of Augusta, with lots of restaurants and bars (although I was only there for 2 days during the lockdown, so everything was closed). As for safety, it is advised not to use your phone while walking on Augusta when it is dark and quiet. Overall good value for your money.

Hotel is very close to all main tourist destinations. Service was good and staff was very accommodating. Very gay friendly place, if you are a part of LGBTQ community.

I’m going to start with the good. The front desk guy Marco was fantastic. Super friendly accommodating and everything you want when you walk into your hotel. He set my expectations high. The kitchen staff and cleaning staff was great too. The breakfast was delicious. I only had three problems. First, I completely understand the bathroom facilities are old. I can work with that. So you won’t have hot water instantly unless you run the hot water in the sink for 2 minutes. But the toilet leaks water too. So it was more annoying. The other front desk guys I didn’t like. I’m American and I’m traveling for work. My girlfriend was with me too. However the other two front desk guys were sassy and I didn’t their attitude. They kept asking my girlfriend what room number she was in. Dude! She is with me. We walked into the front door to together and came down from the elevator together. Then the bald front desk guy asked her when she checking out. The other guy had glasses and was sassy. Keep in mind these guys didn’t even talk to me. Yes I speak Portuguese! I operate services for intercambio for Brazilian students. The third problem was someone opened our room door. I believe it was a staff member. Because the door was left open with the door tag hanging on the handle. Our door is next to the elevator which is old. It has a normal door in front of the open elevator door. There’s two of them. So they could have easily hidden. This happened in the evening.

Everything was good except the internet speed was slow and sometimes not connected 👎

Simple but comfortable worth value for money hotel. Centraly located in the area full of bars and restaurants therefore it can be quite noisy in the night. Excellent breakfast provided, nice and friendly staff in the restaurant and reception. Safe and clean.

The place was in bad shape. Lamps and blow dryer did not work, needed replacement. My room was in the back of the hotel, which was great to muffle the sounds from the street, but that meant that the wi-fi only worked at the door of the room. If I was to sit at the table to work, there was no signal. Bed was not comfortable and rooms were noisy (you could hear people in the rooms next door). Breakfast was ok, definitely not great, and the management refused to turn the AC on were it was served. That represented a warm and stuffed room during breakfast.

There is a bar in front of the hotel, all night long you can't sleep. Staff is very poor in service. They have no interest to help you with anything. I strongly recommend not to book this hotel. Definitely not with family and kids.

It felt a bit danferous to walk around hotel in the hours od darkness

OUR STAY AT THE HOTEL QUITE SATISFACTORY. ROOM COMFORTABLE. BREAKFAST VERY GOOD. AREA QUITE SAFE CONSIDERING OTHER PARTS OF SAO PAULO. ONLY NEGATIVE IS THAT STAFF CANNOT COMMUNICATE IN ENGLISH.
