Hotel Diego de Almagro Osorno

We stayed at this hotel for one night in route from Puerto Varas to Pucon. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. It was a little remote from the center of town but a short distance from the bus station. We also appreciated being able to have dinner in the restaurant, as there were not any options close by.

The hotel is quiet, close the the mall and other shop. Excellent location

The hotel is new, clean and the rooms have a good size with comfortable beds. Although it is not in the city, it is good for businesses because, by car or taxi, it is ten minutes away from downtown Osorno.

New, clean, spaciousness and comfortable. Excellent for a night stop just off route 5. Out of town though and nothing around the hotel. We ate In the hotel restaurant. Good food but no atmosphere

We spent 3 days in Osorno at the beginning of a cross-continent bus trip, with stops across Argentina, ending in Buenos Aires. I chose the Almagro because we have stayed in other hotels in the chain elsewhere in Chile. At first we were not happy that the location was on the edge of town, which is good for travelers in cars but, we feared, not for us. In fact, it was perfect on all counts. It is across the street from the University of the Lakes (Universidad de los Lago); the bus stop heading into town is less than a block away, and the buses come every 5-7 minutes with a 7-8 minute bus ride into the centre. The hotel has been open only six months but all the kinks have been ironed out. It is a beautiful, modern, comfortable design from the lobby to the restaurant and rooms. Our room, with a king-size bed, was large, comfortable, and overlooked the inner courtyard. A large buffet breakfast, with hot and cold items, was included. Dinner was equally good. If you don't want wine, ask for a frozen lemonade, sandia (watermelon) or melon (cantaloupe). They are served in a large fluted goblet and look like a giant frozen daiquiri. For those traveling in cars, there is covered parking for at least 15 cars. We highly recommend this hotel--with 2 caveats: there is no air conditioning but unless it is unusually hot, the room's open window is enough. And, there is no elevator to the 2nd floor so people with mobility issues should request a ground-floor room when making a reservation.

we could had rest, it's a nice 2 floor hotel (without elevator, so if it's hard for you to carry your stuff or go up the stairs you shall ask for first floor. Clean rooms, good bed such as the rest of DA in Chile, Breakfast was good however our way to the dining room was kind of tricky, it is not signalized and when we arrived the hotel staff did not pointed where the breakfast was served or did not explained. The swimming pool is outdoor without any kind of conditioning, so perhaps you wont be able to use it but on summer's afternoon...

My host company chose the hotel and I enjoyed my stay could stay again. great breakfast

Really nice modern hotel with a good breakfast. Mainly stayed here as a way to break up our drive from Bariloche/Pucon to Puerto Varas. Not sure about surrounding area or things to do though.
