Dog and Partridge Inn

Greeted well, shown to room Relaxed genuine conversation. Double bed made up of two singles. Soft & possibly older mattress but comfortable with the extra topper (which creates the lump down the middle of the bed) slept well; 2 pillows with only 1 spare in the wardrobe. Both a fan & a heater provided (central heating radiator present) We had a far-end room & because it was very warm weather, the exit door to the car park was open constantly, which meant we heard cars coming and going late/early far more; double-glazed window. Cleanliness was pretty good but lacking attention to detail: old spider webs, very dirty fire sensor and lights (signs of smoking in room - tar marks present) Also the bathroom cabinet when opened smelt very musty probably from lack of use. Generally the decoration is tired with marks on the walls, some chipped paint and carpet marks- a good deep clean would help. Very small en-suite, shower cubicle was a corner unit meaning you lose 25% of space inside. The tap is poorly positioned (at the shallower end of the unit) such that it was easy to knock it with an elbow..frustrating as getting the correct temperature wasn’t easy- you need a faster flow to keep the hot water coming through (guessing their cold water pressure is much higher and an instant boiler) and occasionally the hot would disappear (maybe because of other users) Having said all that, I think the room is a decent size & for the cost was very good value- I hope they can resolve some of issues

We have enjoyed our 3 nights stay. Our room was clean and tidy, big enough for the family of 3. They provided cups and bowls as no food being served. For the price we paid I can't complain at all. Lovely place, just need a little bit of maintenance, maybe more guests? We are happy to visit them again.

Room was decent sized, no option to for dining which was a little inconvenient but not a major issue

Great experience. We enjoyed a nice nights rest. The shower drains slow so you are going to have a mess on the floor or you will have to shower on low flow. Communicating through the Expedia App doesn't work, you would need to contact the property directly for any concerns by phone provided once you arrive.

Beautiful big bed. Had a wonderful sleep. Only had one drink here as they were having a charity event. Bathroom was the only let down as floor unsafe and basin was cracked.

Great place to stay friendly staff and locals made feel really welcome. Great bus service to other areas, lots of nice places around to eat and drink

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Both the tv and internet worked well and a cool breeze was maintained by keeping the window open, which we weren't comfortable with, as it was on the ground floor, but it seemed like a safe area, to do so. There was a food truck on the premises which my husband thoroughly enjoyed!

Lovely big open rooms. Lovely staff. Breakfast was lovely.

Louise was friendly and helpful on check in. It was only an overnight stay, but suited our purpose.

The double bed was 2 singles together so the middle was really hard and not great for a couple The sockets were all the wrong side of the room The room smelt of dog which isn't nice at all There was dog hairs on the bed and cushions Someone had used the toilet and left particles still stuck to the bowl 🙄 The shower filled up around your feet so you had to have a quick shower or it would be all over the floor. The next room was loud talking till after midnight, tried to report via the phone number in the room book but no answer. Ended up knocking on their door to ask them to keep the noise down and the smell of weed coming from their room told me I would get no joy from these guests. The bathroom stunk of fish on the second night, must of been coming from the blocked drain in the shower

Very basic,no frills

The room was nice but the shower was very small and it was nited tgat the floor would flood following having a shower so had to use towels to dry it
