A grand building set off a main road in a quiet village. Good parking in the front with additional parking in the rear if required. Very clean and well decorated in the reception area as well as the bar and lounge. I was warmly greeted and shown to my room. A very tasteful set up with a stylish bathroom. My room gave me a view of the front. The king sized bed allowed for a good night's sleep. There are plenty of dining options just a few miles around with Reading and Basingstoke in close proximity. Breakfast was cooked to order and was made with great ingredients and got my day off to the right start. Would look to stay here again if possible.

1-night stay for work, car park was free. Had to wait for a staff member to greet me. Was in room 9, 3rd landing (no lift - for information). Room was well presented and in good order. There was a desk to work at if required. TV was good and WiFi was okay - had to log back on a couple of times. Ensuite was cosy with no heating apart from a towel rail. Postcode for venue is RG7 1PT not RG7 1PY as on Hotels.com website. I only got this information in an email from the venue AFTER I had arrived.

Good reception. Room very hot, window opens about two inches. Both bedside lamps not working. No sockets by bed. Socket by desk not working. Shower not draining almost overflowing on completion. Tea and coffee and biscuit were fine.

Great little traditional hotel in lovely countryside south of Reading. We had a huge room at the front, huge flat screen tv great big bathroom couldn't fault it apart from the doors not closing and locking properly! Good breakfast in lovely dining room overlooking a beautiful garden and river. Coffee could have been a freshly machine made or a cafetiere nobody around to see if we needed anything extra, like more toast! Will definitely come back!!!

Toilet simply was not refilling. Told staff the next morning and was told “it does fill, just very very slowly. We will get someone to look at it”. Waited over 10 mins for the toilet to fill but still no good.

Stayed for 2 nights whilst on business in Reading. Very comfortable room, great food and staff are so friendly. I arrived late on the first night so Mark made me an off the menu snack which was very much appreciated. A big thank you to Sue - my car had a flat battery in the morning and she leant me jump leads and helped try to start my car - all sorted in the end and I'm very grateful. Would definitely stay again.
