We enjoyed the location by the river, and our room (one of the cottage rooms) was really comfortable, especially the bed. We ate supper in the restaurant, generous portions of pasta. The breakfast was a help-yourself buffet, with hot options, so it felt very easy in every way. Lots of parking space, definitely a place we will come back to with our motorbikes.

I stay at this hotel frequently, the newer rooms in the hotel building are nice particularly the ones above the front doors these provide a lovely view. I always enjoy my meals here and on a nice evening it’s so peaceful to sit outside looking over the river with a refreshment. Breakfast is fresh cooked which I do prefer however not a massive choice in terms of Continental. Overall I enjoy staying here and the staff are always helpful.

Stayed here for 2 nights for my partners birthday. The hotel is in a lovely spot by the river with a nice area outside to relax in. It's ideally situated between 2 national trust properties, (both of which are well worth a visit). The room itself could do with a bit of TLC, but it was clean and comfortable. Slept really well. Food was decent, self serve buffet breakfast which had quite agood choice. The staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking on site. Had a pleasant stay overall and would definitely stay here again.

I made an error when booking in that I thought cottage was a style of room. However it turned out that we were staying in a row of terraced cottages separate from the main hotel. This was my fault not that of the hotel. However, it was during the heatwave where day temperatures were about 35c. The cottages were in shade all day and were nice and cool compared to the main hotel, so a bit of a result. The access to room 5 was via a front door serving two cottage rooms 5 & 6. This door had a separate Yale type lock but the door would not shut. (Woman Aware). The hallway leading to the rooms was shabby and needs redecorating. The room decor was good. The en suite was clean and adequate. However the larger person might find the en suite too small.

The room in the cottages need some improvement; paint flacking off walls. Would have been good to have water bottles in the room with the heat.

Our room was not as big as expected from the photos and we were overlooking a flat roof with extractor fans continuously on - not so great when we had to have the windows open in the heat and could not get the ac to work. However an extremely helpful receptionist (Jay) gave us a different room a little bit further away which was a little bit bigger and slightly less noisy (thanks Jay 🙂). Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting by the river. Evening meal was nice, but I was still hungry as the portion of crushed potato with the bream was miniscule. Breakfast was good apart from the raw mushrooms (shame, as they were lovely big mushrooms and would have been delicious had they actually been cooked). The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would return again.

Everything was great apart from the room being cold and having no heating. Just a small oil radiator which didn’t really do much. Apart from that it was fantastic

Location is beautiful. We stayed in a twin room (son and mother) in one of the cottages. The entrance to the cottages are going through some redecoration. A basic comfortable room, clean. The electrics died in the room in the morning, but a quick call to reception sorted it all out. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. Cooked to order. Pastries, cereals, toasts available too. Coffee from an urn, which was fine, could have been hotter. But good value overall. We dined in the restaurant in the evening, lovely food. There was a shockingly rude couple in the restaurant which made us feel very uncomfortable so we ate as quickly as possible and left, but enjoyed the views and beautiful sunset outside. They clearly hadn't read the menu before hand and were expecting a Brewers Fayre menu! We would definitely stay again, as was convenient and comfortable for us.

We stayed for 1 night on our way to a MSV trackday at Donnington Park. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the River Trent. The location was great. Parking was fine and overall a pleasant stay. We chose to eat in the restaurant - unfortunately too few staff meant service was not great. The Sunday roast was ok but also not great.

The staff were very helpful. The room needed some much needed TLC. Marks and stains all on walls. Hot tap in bathroom bath didn’t work. No complementary water in rooms, bar closed in morning so unable to get any refreshments. Thin duvet on bed and rock hard pillows but the location sold our stay there.
